Derek Hough's Wife Hayley Celebrates His Emmy Win After Unfathomable Health Batt

00:28 As fans recall, Hailey was hospitalized on December 6th following the couple's Symphony

00:34 of Dance tour performance in Washington, D.C.

00:37 There, she was diagnosed with a cranio-hematoma from a burst blood vessel and during surgery,

00:44 part of her skull was removed to ease pressure on her brain.

00:48 She then underwent a successful cranioplasty surgery on December 21st.

00:53 Hailey adds in her tribute to Derek with a pic of him holding his Emmy, "Derek, you

00:57 continue to amaze me with your drive, brilliance, and commitment to excellence.

01:02 I have loved being able to witness and be part of your journey this far and cannot wait

01:07 to see what else the future holds."

01:10 And when Derek accepted his award, he reflected on Hailey's health battle in his speech,

01:15 saying, "Exactly a month ago, I was in the hospital.

01:19 This is a different moment.

01:20 A life-changing moment reminded me to really savor every moment."

01:24 And after thanking those that helped him win the award, he dedicated his Emmy to Hailey.

01:36 Hailey took to Instagram December 31st to share a compilation video of everything she

01:41 and Derek have experienced this past year, from their wedding in August to a national

01:46 dance tour and finally, the unexpected health emergency.

01:51 Hailey wrote, "2023 was a year of the highest of highs and some life-changing moments.

01:57 I'm so grateful for the people in my life that stood by me through it all."
