00:00 Right Dishon, really impressive debut for Elgin. Tell me first of all how the move came about?
00:05 I've been playing at Banks for the last month and a half, two months. It was at Cove and it just didn't work out there.
00:13 So I needed to get some minutes in and played against Huntley, a few hands in and Gaffer gave me a call and said,
00:20 'I've got the job at Elgin so calm down'. So I've always wanted to move up the leagues, it didn't work out at Cove.
00:27 Still contracted there but I just want to get my games in and hopefully kick on.
00:32 You've been scoring goals for Banks AD in the Highland League, you've scored about eight, was it?
00:36 Seven in seven starts.
00:38 That's a pretty good record and I think you did some damage to Alan Hale when he was manager at Huntley.
00:44 So that attracted his attention and it's worked out well now that he's Elgin's manager?
00:48 Yeah, but ultimately I just want to get my head down, play games and score goals.
00:53 It was a difficult first half for Elgin and you maybe weren't seeing as much of the ball as you would have liked out there on the right wing.
00:59 It's the first time I've actually met the boys today so playing with them, just trying to work out how we play and what's what.
01:07 Then I think it came into the 30, 35, 10 minutes left, finally started to get into the game and start creating and then the second half was all over.
01:17 Because you had an effort in the first half which the defender cleared out of them.
01:20 I was in but it happens. That's what I'm about, I just want to create chances and score goals.
01:26 In the second half, obviously, they got the penalty equaliser and Russell Dignall scored that goal.
01:32 You were coming more and more into the game, you were still on the wing and then you came to the more central position.
01:37 That led of course to the last minute incident for the penalty.
01:41 That's where I predominantly play, down the middle.
01:43 But either wing, I'm more than happy to get involved. Most important, we got the three points and kick on from there.
01:51 What do you remember about the penalty incident?
01:53 My one or the winning goal?
01:56 The winning goal, yeah. Just literally ball down the line, touched it past the defender and as I'm coming close to the goal, he took my back leg out.
02:04 The rest was history.
02:07 Because you were looking as if the foul didn't come, you might have went on and maybe got the goal yourself.
02:11 Literally, that's what I was planning to do. I didn't even really dive in. It's not really what I'm about.
02:16 I just want to score goals. I was trying to get my shirt off and he just took out my back leg.
02:20 Penalty and the young boy has slowed it away well.
02:24 Happy days and it's a perfect Elgin debut for you?
02:27 Yeah, definitely. Now it's time to kick on and score some more and win some more games.
02:31 What's your early impressions of the Elgin team and the set-up here at Barra Briggs?
02:36 Good bunch of lads, nice set-up. Everyone's welcomed me really well.
02:40 In terms of the team, I think we've got a great team but we just need to kick on and not dwell on the past and move forward and play.
02:47 The Barra Briggs crowd seem to take to you straight away. You seem to be very popular straight from the off.
02:53 Yeah, it's a solid crowd and good turnout as well. Hopefully we can get more and more people down here and win more games.
03:02 When you get back-to-back wins, obviously in a lowly position like Elgin are, the aim is to go higher and keep on winning and build confidence?
03:09 From today, I don't think that's where we should be. I don't really see myself playing down at the bottom.
03:16 I've always wanted to get myself as high as I can on the table and as a team I think we can do that.
03:21 And you're confident you can score goals at Ligue 2 and create goals as well?
03:25 Yeah, 100%. I felt like I wasn't given the opportunity at Ligue 1.
03:28 I played four games and I was playing predominantly down at the right-hand side and created a few chances.
03:33 But I feel like if I can just get my head down and play football, I think you'll see the best of me personally.
03:39 So a first goal at 4 for next week would be very nice, wouldn't it?
03:41 100%. I'll be praying at church on Sunday.
