Muhammad Taufeeq Butt, a businessman, served as Councillor of Municipal Corporation Gujranwala during 1996–99, as a Member of District Assembly Gujranwala during 2005–09, and was elected Member of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab in the general elections of 2013. Muhammad Taufeeq Butt is serving as Chairman of, the Parks & Horticulture Authority, Gujranwala, and Child Protection Bureau, Gujranwala. Taufeeq Butt is also a director of Gujranwala Waste Management Company.
Taufeeq Butt appoints two times MPA from Gujranwala but doesn’t have any interest in ministry; Tofeeq just wants to work for the public. Taufeeq Butt stated in 2013 that the area in which he was appointed as an MPA was very backward at the time. Taufeeq Butt worked for their infrastructure and education system and tried their best to make a university in Gujranwala while speaking with UrduPoint anchor Minahil Sarfraz.
