The Mekong River massacre occurred on the morning of October 5, 2011, when two Chinese cargo ships were attacked on a stretch of the Mekong River in the Golden Triangle region on the borders of Myanmar (Burma) and Thailand. All 13 crew members on both ships were killed and dumped in the river.
When a huge amount of drugs is found onboard, the Chinese authority teams up with police forces from Thailand, Laos and Myanmar to investigate the case. the Chinese government launches a daring operation to arrest the violent drug cartel responsible.
The movie is inspired by a TRUE EVENT that took place in 2011.
