A labourer who moves to Shanghai to become rich must use his kung-fu skills to survive while trying to stay on a good and honest path.
Possessing unique martial arts skills since childhood, Ma Yongzhen (伍允龍 Philip Ng Wan-lung) travels from his hometown to Shanghai to seek a livelihood. There he meets rising overlord Lung Chat (安志杰 Andy On). The two youth who both possess a dream quickly befriend each other and they become brothers after going through difficulties together. Since then, the two brothers have worked hard together, defeating numerous enemies, and took down the largest triad gang the Axe Gang in one swoop, which makes them renown throughout Shanghai. At the same time, Ma also got help from retired kung fu master, the Iron Leader (洪金寶 Sammo Hung Kam-bo), to fight their common enemy. The Axe Gang was not willing to fail like this and holds a grudge against Ma and Lung while also finding a way to destroy them. Lung was then killed in a surprise attack. Ma, who was watching his brother die and was unable to help him, decides to embark on a path of vengeance.
