00:00 Right, welcome to my home in North Devon and I've bought three home practice nets
00:04 from the internet at three very very different price points and I'm going to
00:08 put them through their paces and see what I think of them.
00:10 Right, so let's start with the cheapest of the nets that I bought and this is the Galileo golf net and this came in
00:21 under $80, $79.99 I paid for this. It was a little bit disappointing on delivery,
00:27 it took a little bit over a week to arrive which the other two were a little
00:30 bit quicker if I'm honest but when it got here I was really impressed. Comes in
00:33 a really nice comfortable carry case, not too big, nice and lightweight and mobile
00:37 and the construction is really solid. It's super easy to put together. Got two
00:41 fiberglass poles here that crisscross at the top that just go through these
00:45 material slots and that supports the whole frame. It's just simply a case of
00:49 threading that through, crossing them over and essentially it's built and you
00:53 pin it down in each corner and you've got your golf net. What I also like about
00:57 this is the extra stability they've added with this sort of baffle here.
01:00 That serves two purposes. A) it gives you a target to shoot at and B) it just
01:05 provides a little bit more insurance if a powerful shot were to burst through a
01:09 net at any point. It's got two layers to get through which I like as a slightly
01:12 anxious golfer myself. So yeah, I mean as a whole really really impressed. It's got
01:17 some side safety so if you do hit a stray one off either way you've got a
01:21 bit of side help and also it's got a slight roof to it again so if you hit
01:25 one slightly higher than you intended to you've still got that safety net to
01:29 literal safety net to stop the ball doing anything you don't want it to do.
01:33 So for under $80, seriously impressed with this net. Right so on to the more
01:37 mid price point net that I purchased. This is from Forb Golf and this is their
01:42 Pro Pop-Up Net and I paid $139.99 for this and it had a $9.99 delivery charge.
01:49 Super impressed with the delivery time. It was on the doorstep within 48 hours
01:53 which is great. Came in a lovely little kit, little bag, easy to transport and
01:57 super lightweight as well. So what do you get for your $139.99? Well compared to the
02:02 Galileo you get a bigger surface area to hit at which is something that could be
02:06 could be important to some people. What you don't get is you don't get the side
02:09 panels or the roof panels to stop those stray ones that go a little bit high and
02:13 a little bit wide. The nets have really good quality and you get a little banner
02:17 strip along the bottom for anything you thin too low. It's not going to scoot off
02:20 underneath underneath the net. Really easy to put together. It's just basically
02:26 slotting three poles together into prefabricated angle pieces here and then
02:31 the net just clips on at all four corners and then you just stake it to
02:34 the ground. So in terms of delivery time, ease of setup and quality of
02:40 product, the nets a really nice quality. Nothing's going to go through there.
02:43 Felt very confident hitting anything through that. I think that's a really
02:46 good product for the price point. Right okay on to the final net and the most
02:50 expensive one that I purchased. This is from Spawnier Golf and this is their
02:53 Academy Commercial bundle. So it doesn't just come as the net, it also comes with
02:57 a very high quality mat and teeing area. Nice and thick and really absorbs the
03:02 impact and also comes with some additional side panels in addition to
03:06 the ones you can see here. They come back a little bit further just to give you
03:09 that extra security for any wayward shots you might hit. In terms of
03:13 delivery time again, super super impressed. Within 48 hours, I think this was the first
03:17 of the nets to arrive actually. Came in three boxes obviously because of the
03:21 mats, the nets and the side panels. They all came separately but yeah super quick
03:27 and probably out of all of them the easiest to put together. Once you pull it
03:31 out of the box it came in a very sort of disc bag and as soon as you pull the net
03:35 out the bag it just kind of tension explodes itself into life, into the right
03:39 shape. So there's very little work you have to do. After that all you've got to
03:43 do is put these two little side posts in to prop it up vertically and you're
03:48 pretty much all set up. Actually there's one more piece you can put in which I
03:51 did which gives you a little bit more stability, a little bit more safety for
03:55 anything that goes a bit high. So there's a kind of an arched fiberglass pole that
03:59 goes through there and it keeps that into place. So those are the only two
04:01 bits of work you really have to do. Then you just locate the net, put your pegs in
04:05 and it's set into place and it does come with a few more features as you'd expect
04:10 for the price point. So we've got some seriously thick archery grade baffle
04:14 here which has a target on which is great for the visual but also for the
04:17 security of any balls that might pop through and I promise you nothing's
04:21 getting through this and if it did there's another net behind there as well.
04:25 So super secure and really really gives good peace of mind that you're not going
04:29 to be hitting through balls through into your neighbor's garden or anything like
04:32 that. The bottom of the net also here is higher at the back and it's angled back
04:36 towards us. As soon as the ball hits the net it wants to roll back close to you
04:39 just for ease of collection. I think as I said as well I was really impressed with
04:43 the mat, really high quality, very thick, really absorbs the strike and that's
04:48 going to be really hard wear. You can just feel that's a really high quality
04:52 piece of kit. So yeah it is more expensive, significantly more expensive
04:56 than the rest but there are a lot more features and I would say it does give
05:00 you real peace of mind that the stability of this net will go the
05:03 distance. Right so there you have it, those are my thoughts on the three home
05:06 practice nets that I purchased at three very very different price points. Now all
05:11 I've got to do is get them away before my wife gets home.
