00:08 >> My name is Beverly Jarvis, and I'm a great fan of air fryer cookery.
00:12 I think particularly in this day and age when cooking is quite expensive,
00:18 do you know that a normal domestic oven costs just about a pound to run,
00:22 whereas the air fryer is three and a half times cheaper, it costs 17p per hour to run.
00:29 And also there's very little preheating with an air fryer.
00:33 Two to three minutes is fine for them to reach temperature.
00:36 Also, they're a very clean method of cooking.
00:40 You don't get splatters all over the work surface.
00:43 So in my opinion, there is no better way to cook your Christmas dinner than in the air fryer.
00:50 Probably the top tip is roast potatoes.
00:54 If you pre-boil them for 11 minutes, drain them, shake them in the pan like you would
01:00 if you were going to cook them conventionally, I add a teaspoon of semolina, salt and pepper,
01:06 two teaspoons of duck fat, and a tablespoon of olive oil.
01:11 And I'm talking about 700 grams of Maris pie for potatoes.
01:16 Then would you believe they go in the air fryer at 180 for 35 minutes,
01:22 and the results speak for themselves.
01:24 The turkey is amazing.
01:26 I just buy a bog-standard turkey breast from the supermarket,
01:30 and I must admit mine was frozen.
01:33 I defrost it for two days in the fridge, wrap it in bacon with a bit of butter and herbs,
01:40 a little seasoning, which actually is enough to feed six people,
01:44 with a few pigs in blankets thrown in.
01:46 Cooks in about 50 minutes in the air fryer.
01:50 And I cook the potatoes alongside it.
