Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayah 216 (Arabic Recitation): “ كُتِبَ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡقِتَالُ وَهُوَ كُرۡهٞ لَّكُمۡۖ وَعَسَىٰٓ أَن تَكۡرَهُواْ شَيۡـٔٗا وَهُوَ خَيۡرٞ لَّكُمۡۖ وَعَسَىٰٓ أَن تُحِبُّواْ شَيۡـٔٗا وَهُوَ شَرّٞ لَّكُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ وَأَنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ ”
Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 216 (English Translation): “ Battle has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allāh knows, while you know not. ”
Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayat 216 (Urdu Translation): “ تم پر جہاد فرض کیا گیا گو وه تمہیں دشوار معلوم ہو، ممکن ہے کہ تم کسی چیز کو بری جانو اور دراصل وہی تمہارے لئے بھلی ہو اور یہ بھی ممکن ہے کہ تم کسی چیز کو اچھی سمجھو، حاﻻنکہ وه تمہارے لئے بری ہو، حقیقی علم اللہ ہی کو ہے، تم محض بےخبر ہو۔ ”
The English translation by Saheeh International and the Urdu translation by Maulana Muhammad Junagarhi, both published by the renowned King Fahd Glorious Qur'an Printing Complex (KFGQPC). Surah Al-Baqarah is the second chapter of the Quran.
