Andriy Husin's Fatal Crash @ Chayki 2014 (Aftermath)

Born in Zolochev, Lviv Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union, in 1972, Andriy Husin was a professional footballer. Longtime FC Dynamo Kyiv player winning seven times the Ukrainian Premier League, and a member of the Ukrainian national football team from 1993 to 2006, he took part in the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. He played in 71 matches scoring nine goals.

Aside from football, Husin was a motor racing enthusiast and participated in kart races during his football career. After his retirement from football in 2009, Husin remained in sport as coach for the second Dinamo Kiev team as well as assistant coach for several other Russian football clubs. He also switched to car racing and won the Lada-1500 class in the first round of the 2010 Chayka Ice Track Car Racing Cup, at the wheel of a Lada Kalina. He also owned a Subaru and a McLaren sportscar which he sometimes tested at race tracks.

In recent years, Andriy Husin became interested in motorcycle racing. He planned to participate in the Ukrainian Motorcycle Championship riding his BMW and usually took part in official training sessions on race tracks.

On Wednesday, 17 September 2014 he came to at Chayka racing circuit near Kiev, Ukraine to test his bike for fun in an unauthorised ride. According to Vasiliy Yakimchuk, general secretary of the Ukrainian Motorsport Federation, about 15h00 o'clock Husin lost control of his bike while entering a turn at high speed and crashed into a guardrail. The force of impact was so fierce, that he lost his helmet and was thrown behind the barrier, being killed almost instantly. He was 41 years old. Andriy Husin left behind his wife and three children.
