00:00 All change with our weather over the next 24 to 36 hours as rain moves in.
00:05 Warnings for rain have been issued, more about that in a moment.
00:08 For the time being it's bitter outside through Tuesday evening, watch out for ice.
00:11 Ice warnings have been issued across Aberdeenshire as well as borders.
00:14 Inland with a light breeze we could see some freezing fog forming.
00:18 Anywhere across the central belt, down the spine of the country,
00:21 and across more southern areas, mid Wales towards central southern England, a mix of
00:25 low clouds as well as some freezing fog.
00:27 Now, further west for Northern Ireland, the wind will pick up some strength and eventually
00:32 we'll see some cloud here to end the night.
00:36 Elsewhere it's a bitter night, it's a very cold one with a severe frost.
00:40 Lowest temperatures across Scotland, minus 6, minus 7 degrees Celsius, even lower than
00:45 that and that fog will linger on.
00:47 Watch out for slippery surfaces, still some showers across Shetland as well as Orkney,
00:50 but dry elsewhere and a dry morning across Northern England as well as the Midlands.
00:55 Again, you may run into some freezing fog.
00:57 Low clouds and freezing fog anywhere from mid Wales down towards central southern England,
01:01 but some brighter weather to start the day as well, some sunshine.
01:05 Not the case for Northern Ireland.
01:07 Eventually you'll see some rain arrive across these parts through Wednesday morning and
01:11 again quite a breeze here.
01:13 So here's the first batch of rain just slowly nudging in.
01:17 Elsewhere it's a bright morning, some sunshine away from the fog, although sunshine turning
01:21 rather hazy across western parts of Scotland and always more cloud across Wales, central
01:26 southern England and the clouds will continue to thicken as the rain comes and goes across
01:30 Northern Ireland through a lunchtime.
01:32 But notice towards the West it will intensify through the afternoon as the cloud continues
01:37 to push in across the country.
01:40 To end the day though, eastern counties seeing some sunshine and towards the West it's wet
01:45 across Northern Ireland, patchy rain moving in across the southwest of Wales as well as
01:48 West country and nudging into the western side of Scotland.
01:52 Wherever you are, temperatures on the low side, but notice the milder values coming
01:55 in across the far southwest.
01:57 A rain warning overnight for Northern Ireland with that intense rain, some problems on the
02:00 roads possibly as more rain warnings kick in into the early hours of the morning of
02:04 Thursday across the southwest of Scotland, southern parts of Wales and the West country.
02:10 Again the risk of some intense bursts here.
02:12 The rain turns to snow as it pushes across the cold air of northern Britain and what
02:17 that means again problems on the roads, particularly over the higher routes if you are travelling
02:21 into Thursday morning and quite a breeze develops into Thursday as well.
02:27 So here are your warning zones through the next few days.
02:30 We have a rain warning into the early hours of Thursday morning for Northern Ireland.
02:34 Rain warnings are southwest Scotland down towards the southwest and for the eastern
02:38 side of Scotland we could see over the hills up to around 100mm of rain.
02:43 More details of the warnings, check out our website.
02:46 So here's your bigger picture through Thursday.
02:49 As that rain clears, more rain moves in and this area of low pressure will bring gales
02:52 for a time through Thursday and into Friday, swirls of cloud, outbreaks of rain and then
02:58 it quietens down just for a brief time before through Saturday more cloud thickens and again
03:03 some more wet weather as the winds pick up some strength.
03:06 So a breezy day on Saturday.
03:09 Here's your cities list for Thursday.
03:11 It's wet but notice these temperatures.
03:14 They are on the up.
03:15 So 7 to 11, 12 degrees Celsius.
03:18 less cold into the weekend. I'll see you later.
