Dr. Ajaz Rahi was a renowned personality of Urdu literature who excelled in various fields of writing and education. He was born in 5th April 1942 in Peshawar, Pakistan, and obtained his MA, LLB, and Ph.D. degrees from different universities. He started his literary career as a short story writer and published several collections of stories that reflected his keen observation and social awareness. He also wrote poetry, criticism, columns, radio/TV scripts, translations, and educational books. He received many awards and honors for his literary contributions.
Dr. Ajaz Rahi was not only a prolific writer but also a dedicated teacher and scholar. He taught Urdu literature at various colleges and universities in Pakistan and abroad. He also served in National Language Authority and the allama iqbal open university. He was involved in many literary organizations and forums that promoted Urdu language and culture. He was a mentor and guide for many young and aspiring writers who admired his vision and style.

Dr. Ajaz Rahi passed away in 10th April 2006 at the age of 64 in Islamabad, Pakistan. He left behind a rich legacy of literature that will continue to inspire generations of readers and writers. His works have been translated into many languages and are widely appreciated by critics and scholars. He was a true legend of Urdu literature who enriched the world with his words and wisdom.
