00:00 Hello and welcome to the London Club.
00:02 Now, as we head into the main competition part of the golf season,
00:05 you are going to need to make some really important strategy decisions
00:08 while you're out on the golf course.
00:10 And that's what this video is all about.
00:12 We're going to take a look at the seven biggest risk and reward scenarios.
00:16 We're going to talk you through some of the strategy involved
00:19 and tell you how to take on the shot if that's what you decide to do.
00:22 Now, the advice comes courtesy of Jed Walters.
00:24 Jed is one of the Golf Monthly Top 50 coaches.
00:26 He'll talk you through the technique that you need to play all of these crucial shots.
00:31 Now, this video, it's important to say, comes in partnership with Nikon
00:34 and the Coreshot 50i Laser Rangefinder.
00:37 I'll be using this to provide us with all the key yardages that we need
00:40 while we're out on the course.
00:42 Now, it features something called Dual Locked-On Quake functionality
00:46 that helps you to identify the flag a little bit faster and a little bit easier.
00:50 It also allows you to scan the horizon to help you differentiate
00:54 between the flag and the background.
00:56 Now, the last thing I'll say about it is that it also has a magnet
01:00 that allows you to attach it to the side of your golf cart.
01:02 Right, come on then, Jed. Let's get started.
01:04 Okay, so this one is all about picking your line off the tee.
01:21 And again, how aggressive are you with that line?
01:23 And this is a great hole to talk about this on because it's a par 5.
01:27 It's reachable for the longer hitters, but you've got a decision to make.
01:30 You can either go down the right-hand side of the hole,
01:32 makes the hole much longer, probably plays it as more of a three-shotter
01:35 if you go down the right.
01:36 Or you can be aggressive.
01:37 You can go down the left-hand side, so left of those trees
01:40 that you can see at the end of the fairway.
01:41 That leaves you with a much shorter shot into the green, but it's tighter.
01:44 So it's trickier.
01:46 So in a scenario like this, Jed, what are you thinking?
01:48 What's the thought process that people need to have?
01:50 Okay, again, like all shots, it's the shape of shot that you hit
01:53 is the key, isn't it?
01:54 So if you're fading the golf ball, then you would look at it and say,
01:58 "Well, I want to be giving myself the greatest funnel."
02:02 So faders would definitely tee up on the right-hand side of the tee box.
02:06 Drawers would probably tee up a little bit more over to the right-hand side
02:10 and be aiming a little bit to the right, so they're again creating their bigger funnel.
02:15 If you were going for the more dangerous shot, the risky shot,
02:21 but gives you the greatest reward, you would definitely be more on this right-hand side,
02:26 even if you were fading the golf ball.
02:28 Because if you tee up on the left-hand side, you're hitting a fade,
02:31 then your line is literally over these bushes here on the left,
02:34 and that's not a good place to start mentally.
02:35 So you give yourself sort of almost margin of error,
02:38 and then you can see the shot in front of you.
02:39 You should be able to paint a picture for what the ball flight is going to do.
02:42 Now, the yardage that I've got here, so the tree at the end of the fairway
02:45 that you need to be left of or right of, is 282 playing 275.
02:50 So that's the kind of distance that you're looking to hit it.
02:52 But if you go for that left-hand side, what makes this tricky is it's slightly blind.
02:57 So how do you play blind shots?
02:59 How are you visualizing that target and that ball flight when it's blind?
03:03 It's the same as when you can see exactly what's in front of you.
03:07 If you picture where the ball is going to finish,
03:10 and then if you drew your shot shape in your mind back to your point where you stood.
03:15 So you're visualizing then from the left of the tree.
03:19 For me, I'd be visualizing maybe a gentle draw all the way back down to here.
03:24 If you're a fader, visualize the other thing.
03:26 And then from there, it's just about trust.
03:29 It's about trusting your process.
03:30 So it's all about focusing on what you would have as a swing thought if you've got one,
03:35 or stuff that you've been working on with your coach.
03:39 So the impact is all about the process.
03:43 So you just try to make your swing.
03:44 Which is a really good point because that becomes harder to do as the pressure mounts.
03:48 It's very easy to get away from that process.
03:50 Okay, Jed, so go for it. I want you to have a go for the aggressive shot.
03:53 The aggressive shot.
03:54 I'm looking at the tree, maybe to the left side of the tree, the left side of the branches.
04:01 So from that point of view there, just picking my line,
04:05 focusing now, squaring my face, just here, just in front of that line I've picked out at.
04:12 Now I can build my stance around the club face.
04:16 And then from that point of view, it's just trusting my feeling there.
04:20 And then just committing to it.
04:21 Just focus on what it feels like to swing the golf club.
04:27 And there's that little draw at the tree.
04:30 And then just back round into the fairway.
04:31 Perfect. And I think you've got about 170 odd yards to the flag.
04:36 You're in real birdie chance if you can pull off that shot.
04:39 Eagle chance.
04:40 Eagle chance.
04:41 So it goes to show, you can do it, but you need the thought process.
04:44 And then you need to be able to have the presence of mind,
04:47 not to get too caught up in anything else other than your normal process.
04:51 If you do that, you might just be able to pull off a few more shots like that one.
05:00 Right, so as you can see, we have a tree in the way.
05:02 Now this is a par 5, the 11th hole here on the International Course of the London Club.
05:06 And Jed, it's one of these scenarios where you've got two options.
05:09 You can chip it back out sideways, that's fine.
05:11 But in that scenario here, you're still going to have about 250 odd yards left into the green.
05:16 So you can take the more aggressive play up the right-hand side.
05:20 But that is a little bit more dangerous.
05:22 Now, the Nikon is telling me that to the crest of the hill, Jed, you've got 150 yards.
05:27 Which should leave you about 80, 90 yards in, which would be absolutely ideal.
05:31 So the question is, what do people need to think about before taking on the shot?
05:35 And then if they do take the shot on, how do they do it?
05:38 Okay. Lie, swing direction, your pattern are probably the first two things to think about.
05:45 Okay.
05:46 Can I hit the shot I want to hit? So can we get to the crest of the hill?
05:49 Can we get 150, 160 yards down there?
05:52 From this lie we've got here, we can do.
05:54 If we were here, no way, we've got no chance.
05:58 You've just got to take your medicine there.
06:00 And then understanding what shot you hit.
06:02 So if you're a slice of the golf ball, then you can't hit this shot.
06:05 You're not going to just be able to turn it on and off.
06:07 Otherwise, you wouldn't slice it.
06:09 So you've got to understand that if you're slicing it, your swing pattern is this way,
06:13 then you're going to have to fade it around the tree.
06:16 Well, from this position here, that's not the shot.
06:19 If you're maybe over there, you could play that shot.
06:23 If you're trying to play it from here, you're bringing the tree.
06:25 Yeah. So it's a tough one.
06:27 Okay. So then with this particular shot, you need to hit a slight draw.
06:31 You need to keep the flight down because of the branches.
06:35 Technically, how do you do it?
06:37 So the ball's going to start close to where the clubface points.
06:40 So we don't want to point the clubface at the target because our tree's there.
06:44 So the ball will start too close to it.
06:46 And nine times out of ten, you see somebody try and play this shot and it'll hit the tree.
06:50 So we want to align the body a little bit to the right of the tree.
06:53 So from here, I'm looking at probably where the bunker is.
06:56 Yes.
06:57 Just there. So if I was to align the clubface at the bunker and my body a little bit to the right of the bunker,
07:05 then I've now got the ability to swing the club normally,
07:09 but have the clubface impact slightly close to the path that I'm swinging on,
07:13 which is going to then help me do it.
07:15 Yeah. And I guess you should be able to look down at address and see that the face of the club is slightly close
07:19 to what you would usually see, right?
07:21 Without it being too exaggerated and bringing the tree into play.
07:24 Yeah. And then nudging the ball a little bit back in your stance than where you'd normally have it.
07:28 So not low, so we're not going to push it all the way back here.
07:31 You know, maybe a ball's width, maybe a ball and a half's width back in your stance,
07:36 just to try and take a little bit of that loft off and just keep that initial launch a little bit lower.
07:40 Yeah. Lovely shot, Jed.
07:47 I think it shows that you can develop the skills that you need to be able to hit these shots,
07:50 but it does take some practice.
07:52 Right, so we're on the par 312 on the international course at the London Club.
08:01 And Jed, this is a risk and reward scenario,
08:03 because the question that everyone will need to answer in a position like this is,
08:07 how aggressive are you with your line?
08:09 How close to the flag do you aim?
08:12 Now, Jed, what's the information that you need to gather in order to build a strategy in a scenario like this?
08:17 Okay, so the main problem that we've got is the water which we need to carry.
08:22 So whether we want to be aggressive and go at the flag,
08:26 I suppose it would just depend on where you were.
08:29 You know, if you were in the club championships and you were into the back nine in the last round
08:34 and you're going on a good score, then you probably want to just going to stick this in the middle of the green.
08:38 It's almost like playing 12 over Augusta, isn't it, on Sunday.
08:41 But you need to know what is it to carry the water at the flag.
08:45 At the flag.
08:46 And then also at the middle of the green.
08:48 I've got the slope on to help.
08:50 And it's 165 playing 152 to carry the water.
08:54 Okay, and what about the middle of the green?
08:56 Middle of the green is 175 playing 160.
09:02 Okay, so there's not a great deal in it between those two.
09:06 So now the next number we need is the most important one.
09:10 What number is it to the hill at the back of the green?
09:12 Hill at the back is 179.
09:17 So 190 playing 179.
09:19 Okay, that's the number.
09:21 Right, okay.
09:22 Because we want to take the danger out of the equation.
09:25 Bear in mind that most golfers don't flush it all the time.
09:29 So if you miss strike it, but you've got the club that's not going to hit it anywhere beyond that second number at the back of the green,
09:36 then you're going to be on the green.
09:37 Yeah.
09:38 So you hit an okay shot, I'm on the green.
09:40 Hit a great shot, I'm at the back of the green.
09:42 Okay, go on then Jed.
09:43 You've got one task here.
09:45 Got one task here.
09:46 To carry the water.
09:47 One task here to carry the water.
09:48 Well, I've got six iron because I know that if I don't quite get it, I should carry the water.
09:52 And if I hit it really solid, well, worst case scenario, I'm going to be back edge.
09:56 Back edge.
09:57 Yeah.
09:58 Okay, let's find out.
09:59 But we are going to go for it.
10:00 You're going to go for it?
10:01 Yeah.
10:02 It's a quite aggressive line.
10:03 I'm going to be aggressive on it, yeah.
10:06 You've pulled it a touch.
10:08 It's a lovely shot though.
10:09 You've just drawn it away from the flag.
10:10 It's fine, it's good.
10:11 You've just about made it over.
10:13 But I think it goes to show that the thought process is exactly right.
10:17 Figure out what it is to the safest part and then work from there.
10:20 Okay, so this is less of a risk and reward scenario, more just risk as far as I'm concerned.
10:31 For me, this would be, and for most golfers, I think this would be one of the hardest shots
10:35 you could face, the long bunker shot, Gen.
10:36 Have you got a safe way of playing this?
10:38 Yes.
10:39 Mentally, visually, it's an intimidating shot.
10:43 The reality is, it's quite straightforward.
10:47 The loft is the key to it.
10:49 Most people will come in here, it's a green side bunker, so they will immediately go in
10:52 the bag and reach for their green side bunker club.
10:55 Low wedge, generally, for a lot of people, 58, 60 degrees.
10:58 Some people will go sand wedge, but it's still a lot of loft.
11:01 We've got, I don't know, what was it?
11:03 It looks like it's about 45 yards.
11:05 Laser is telling me it's 40 yards to the flag and then 60 yards to the bank over the back.
11:09 Right, okay.
11:10 The key then is to play the shot in the same way, but use less loft to play it.
11:17 I've got two clubs here.
11:18 I've got my 58, which is my normal green side bunker club, but the shot I play this with
11:22 is actually a pitching wedge.
11:24 It's what, 13 degrees of loft difference?
11:28 Yes.
11:29 Okay, Gen, I'm going to ask you to play two shots.
11:31 Play one with your normal lob wedge to start with.
11:34 I'll take the wedge.
11:35 I just want you to talk through the techniques.
11:36 What's the green side bunker technique?
11:38 Then play it again with the wedge.
11:39 Hopefully, we should see the difference.
11:41 Okay.
11:42 I personally prefer a square setup.
11:45 I know there's a lot of people who open the club face and aim to the left.
11:50 It's good because that engages the bounce, but you can still do it in a slightly different
11:54 way.
11:55 Me, personally, I prefer taking a setup and aiming at your target.
11:59 Then, create you with the stance, ball position, as you can see there, a forward of center.
12:05 From here now, I'm going to roll the club face in my hands a little bit.
12:09 I'm opening the club face.
12:10 Opening the face, and then you take a grip.
12:11 That's engaging the bounce and taking the lead in edgeway.
12:14 Then, obviously, this thing is off to the right-hand side, but if I then lower my hands,
12:19 that brings the face back to the target.
12:21 It tilts the loft back to where I want it to go.
12:23 That enables you to use your wrist a little bit more to create the-
12:25 Yes, so I can make my normal swing in terms of direction a little bit more sort of wristy,
12:30 so feeling upward hinge and then downward hinge more.
12:34 Now, some people would pick the club head up and throw it in the sand with your trail
12:39 hand.
12:40 Then, some might feel, point the butt of the grip at the ground and then point it back
12:44 at your torso quickly.
12:46 Whichever resonates with the individual, I would say more than anything, but it's having
12:49 that mental picture.
12:51 Yes.
12:53 As you can see, you've made it into that next bunker.
12:57 Yes, yes.
12:58 Well, you look at that, if that was the green, that would be a nice-
13:01 Absolutely no problem.
13:02 Right, let's have a go for the flag then.
13:04 Okay, I'll give you that.
13:06 I'll give you that.
13:07 Give yourself half a decent life, Jed.
13:08 I'm going to give you a chance here.
13:10 Right, okay.
13:11 Let's pop it.
13:12 There you go.
13:13 Okay, so same setup, same routine, same technique, only this time I'm not rolling open.
13:21 Rolling open, 58 degrees.
13:24 It's a lot less.
13:27 So you are opening it, but it's because it's less loft to start with.
13:30 Yes, so I've just opened it there a little bit, but then once I lower my hands, I'm pointing
13:34 it back more at the target and then just making the same motion.
13:38 And you've made the carry easily.
13:44 100 degrees.
13:45 I mean, you've made that look incredibly easy, but I think it is one for people to practice.
13:50 Yeah.
13:51 And just get comfortable with less loft.
13:53 Yeah, bunker shots are the ones that are hard to practice because there's not a lot of facilities
13:57 to go out and just stand there and hit shots.
13:59 But practicing them, different lofts, but the same technique, seeing the different trajectories
14:04 and distances that you're going to get.
14:06 Yeah, that's a simple way to do it.
14:07 Okay, so this is a real risk and reward scenario.
14:15 So you've got a long shot over the water.
14:18 So it's 165 to carry the water, 180 to the flag, Jed.
14:21 So it's a long enough shot over the water to really get your attention.
14:25 You can play this up the right hand side and a lot of golfers would be well advised to do that.
14:30 Pitch it on and make par that way.
14:32 But I want to focus on going for it and hitting that long iron or that hybrid into the green.
14:38 And I want to talk to you about technique.
14:40 What's the key to playing this shot well?
14:42 The biggest thing, obviously, we've got a perfect line because we're in the fairway.
14:45 The fairways here are fantastic.
14:47 I think the biggest thing that we need to think about is making sure that the club makes contact with the ground in the correct spot.
14:54 Okay.
14:55 And for a lot of people, you know, ground contact is generally happening sort of back here.
15:01 So there's a lot of golfers hanging pressure backs, moving the sort of arms away from the ground
15:08 and raising up a little bit to avoid hitting the ground here.
15:12 And that's why a lot of golfers sort of pick it clean off the top, hit the thin shots, hit the fat shots, hit the top shots.
15:18 And really, if we want to strike the ball really nicely, then we've got to hit the ground,
15:23 but we need to hit it in the correct spot, which is always target side of your golf ball.
15:28 Right. Ball first, ground second.
15:30 Exactly.
15:31 That's the order that you're looking for.
15:32 So give us a tip or a drill to help people focus on that then.
15:35 I would say for most people, they need to make sure that their weight is forward towards the target.
15:40 So whether you're going to go with hybrid or an iron.
15:44 So, I mean, you know, for the distance that we have here, 180, that's about my six iron distance.
15:50 Okay.
15:51 You know, there's plenty of golfers who, you know, might not even sort of hit that 160 carry with irons.
15:58 So, yeah, you know, if you need to hit hybrid, hit hybrid, hit the club that is going to carry it the distance you need.
16:03 As always, you know, we know what it is to the flag.
16:05 We know what it is to the carry.
16:06 You know, if we know what it is to the back of the green, which I can tell you, it's 195 to the back.
16:14 So you've got a bit of room there.
16:15 For every golfer there, well, we've got 15 yards behind the flag.
16:18 So really what we need to do is pick our 190 club.
16:21 Yes.
16:22 And hit that one.
16:23 Okay. So what's our tip for striking the ground?
16:25 So from this one here, so I'm going to go with iron.
16:27 So I'm going to give that there to you.
16:29 And the key to it, as I say, is weight forward.
16:31 So from this point of view here, for most golfers, from the top of the backswing, the pressure can shift into the trail side and then stay there.
16:41 So we have the ability to hit the ground here.
16:44 And to avoid that, we raise up, we early extend, we separate the elbows, flick it at the wrist.
16:51 So this is all raising the circle that the club is moving on away from the ground, away from the golf ball.
16:57 What we actually want to do is feel that from the top of the backswing, we shift towards the target.
17:03 So we shift the pressure more in for me, the left, if you're a lefty, to your right.
17:07 And we maintain that movement constantly and maintain fairly straight arms, so extended arms.
17:14 So the club will then want to hit the ground more over here.
17:18 Well, that's going to give you your ball to strike.
17:20 That's going to give you the biggest opportunity to get that quality of strike.
17:24 Yeah, and if you start doing it, you will immediately notice what a big difference it makes to the quality of the contact.
17:29 Huge difference.
17:30 We can't just talk about this shot forever, Jen. You're going to have to hit it for us.
17:34 So taking my aim.
17:36 Squaring that face in there.
17:41 And then for me, I mean, I'm always a little bit more left side of pressure anyway into the set-up position.
17:50 So I'll probably be maybe, I don't know, 60, 65% into my left side of the dress anyway with irons.
17:56 You know, a lot of people maybe can drift. You see a lot of it to the right.
17:59 So I'm going to be a little bit more into the left-hand side, try and stay nice and stable in the backswing
18:05 and then shift the pressure, try and get that ground contact over there.
18:10 I've just started that fraction to the right.
18:17 It's drawing though.
18:18 Yeah, it's coming around. Yeah, so nice and safe. I'm on the green.
18:21 A slightly longer shot than ideally I would have liked.
18:25 But I've got an eagle putt.
18:27 Yeah, so I mean, whatever you would do in this scenario, whether you go for it or play it safe,
18:30 it's worth practicing this shot that Jen is talking about here.
18:33 Because again, if you can develop that skill set, it really can come in handy.
18:37 So we have a classic risk and reward scenario, one that many golfers will face,
18:47 you know, in the majority of rounds of golf that they play.
18:49 And the question is, how aggressive do you want to be?
18:52 How close do you want to pitch this ball to you to get it close to the flag?
18:55 What should people be thinking about here, Jed?
18:58 Don't try and keep it this side of the flag is what I would say.
19:05 You know, hitting it to six feet to 10 feet is a good result.
19:10 But bear in mind, there's still 10 feet to the other side as well, which gives you more room.
19:15 The classic one is literally trying to sort of be too cheap with it and dumping it in the bunker.
19:21 Yeah. And that's why it is such a fearful shot for most golfers.
19:24 And I guess the key here is to assess the lie. That's why we've got two golf balls.
19:28 Obviously, we've got one which is, you know, it's not lying too bad and very close to the edge.
19:33 But it's not a bad position to be in. And then this one here, you know, this is really nestled down.
19:38 So this is a really difficult one to judge in terms of how it's going to come out.
19:43 Sometimes these come out sort of really dead, other times they'll fly on and release a lot.
19:49 The key is just committing to how far you want the ball to fly through the air.
19:53 Right. So if we think of A to B is where the ball is to where it lands.
20:00 B to C is then out of your control.
20:03 OK, so we concentrate on the length and the type of motion that's going to move the ball from its lie to the green.
20:11 And then, you know, if you get from that lie, especially if you get quite lucky, it lands softly and it ends up close, then great.
20:18 But you're better off with the putter in your hands than just keeping this wedge in your hand for the next shot.
20:22 Definitely. So talk us through how you play it then.
20:25 So you assess the lie. You're trying to pitch the ball past the flag or on the flag?
20:30 I would be looking at this and I would be looking at trying to sort of pitch it close enough to the flag.
20:36 I'd be thinking of about maybe two or three feet short of the flag, so try and carry it all the way.
20:43 OK, so play this one for us.
20:45 So from here, this kind of lie here is, it's a kind of lie where if you were a really good or skilled bunker player, you could play it like a bunker shot.
20:52 OK.
20:53 And play that sort of flop shot, which everybody likes to see.
20:56 If you're not so skilled playing the bunker shot, you can still play that type of flighted shot, but just take all the risk out of it.
21:03 That's the shot I need to know how to play.
21:05 OK.
21:06 So that shot there is really just taking your setup to where your target is there, and then we're going to open the clubface to give ourselves more loft.
21:17 So I've got my sand wedge here, which is a 54 degree.
21:21 But now by the time I've opened it up, that's getting close. It's 58, 60.
21:25 What I'm going to do now is I'm going to move around to my right, so I bring my clubface more to the target.
21:33 So from there, you see the ball position from this angle actually looks like it's right in line with sort of the inside of my left foot.
21:42 But the reality is it's still quite central.
21:44 Yeah.
21:45 So I've now got the clubface pointed at the target, so I've got my loft preset.
21:49 I don't need to do anything. I can literally just keep my arms nice and extended, move them back and then just rotate the torso through.
21:56 Just allow the loft to slide underneath and just pop it into the air.
22:00 Yeah.
22:01 So that's the length of swing now for the distance that it needs to go.
22:04 OK.
22:05 So from here now, keeping the pressure of the body into the left hand side and then just moving arms back, chest through and just committing to it.
22:17 You see how it just pops up in the air. It's landed about a foot short. It's run on. It's probably about nine feet away, but I take that every day.
22:25 Yeah. And I think it shows that you can get yourself into a bit of a fix here if you start to really get too aggressive.
22:32 Having that mindset of getting the ball back in play, giving yourself a putt for par, it could make all the difference to your scoring.
22:39 OK, so the final hole here on the international course at the London Club, it's a par five, just over 500 yards, Jed.
22:51 And I think for a lot of golfers, they will have a hole at their home club where they know that if they get a really good drive away,
22:56 they might be able to get to the green in two, whether that's a long par four or par five.
23:00 On this occasion, the crest of the hill that you can see over there in front of us, I've lasered.
23:05 It's telling me it's about 235 to get over that crest of that hill.
23:10 So if you can do that, Jed, you'll get up to the, you'll have a good chance.
23:14 So how do you add a bit of extra distance to your drives without losing control?
23:18 I think the key is, and modern driving ranges and all the gadgets that we have now, is we've got a lot more data about what we can do ourselves.
23:27 Knowing your club head speed is an important one, because relative to your speed, your launch conditions are the most important things,
23:35 as well as where we strike the golf ball on the club face.
23:38 So if you're a slower swing speed player, you need a higher launch angle and a little bit more spin, then it's not too bad.
23:47 As that club travels faster through impact, then the launch will come down a little bit,
23:52 the spin needs to come down so you can optimise your conditions to maximise your distance.
23:57 Bear in mind, if you miss the middle of the club face, then that's going to cost you energy.
24:03 You're going to be spinning it off a bit, probably, aren't you?
24:05 So how do you achieve those launch conditions then? Is that something you do at set-up?
24:09 Yes, so set-up, and again, certain players, when they've got a really fast speed,
24:13 they can have the ball a little bit further back in the stance and not quite hit it as up, so hit it down.
24:17 But I would say generally, for the majority of players who are swinging the club, say, under 100 miles an hour with the driver,
24:24 then a ball position which is a little bit further forward, launching it a little bit higher, is key.
24:30 It's like now, we're into a little bit of a breeze here, so a lot of people who want to tee it down,
24:35 well, teeing it down is going to lower your launch, it's going to increase your spin,
24:37 and actually has the opposite effect, it makes it shorter into the wind than actually hitting it further.
24:42 Yes, okay. So, go on then, show us what the correct address for this looks like.
24:46 So from here now, I've got the ball teed up fracking higher than normal.
24:50 If you were to address ball almost in line with left foot there, from here, keeping the ball there and just opening the width of your stance.
24:59 Okay.
25:00 So the ball now, especially from my perspective, looks like it's out here.
25:04 And from there, that's going to give me the opportunity then to have a little bit more upward angle of attack,
25:10 hitting the ball fraction above the centre of the club face and then trying to optimise them launch conditions.
25:16 And I guess one of the keys here is to ensure that your upper body doesn't, you don't end up trying to sort of,
25:21 so your upper body's not getting on top of the ball, it's staying centred over your stance.
25:25 Not leaning back, but sort of staying centred, right?
25:27 Yes, it's almost trying to keep your head stable, keep your centres aligned.
25:32 So your lower body's still going to drive forward, your pressure's still going to drive forward,
25:36 but especially where the ball position is there, you'll be out in the impact, that's going to help you with that upward delivery.
25:41 Okay, go on then, hit it for us.
25:43 What a shot. Beautiful.
25:56 We'll take that one.
25:57 You've carried the cusp of that hill comfortably.
26:00 You'll be able to get up in no problem at all.
26:02 I think it goes to show, just get those basics right at address, get the strike right, and you should be able to add a few extra yards.
26:08 So there you have it, that's our look at the seven risk and reward scenarios that every golfer will face.
26:14 Hopefully Jed's advice there will help you think a bit smarter to ensure that when you do want to take on the risk involved in these shots,
26:20 you've got the technique and you've got the skill set to be able to do it, because it could help with your overall scoring.
26:25 But that's it for now from the London Club. Thanks very much for watching. We'll see you next time.
