00:00 (upbeat music)
00:02 We knew that they would be playing each other
00:07 'cause they played each other in the Super Bowl
00:10 and those two teams always play each other.
00:12 Usually, well really,
00:15 they've only played against each other four times.
00:17 13 years because they're in different conferences.
00:21 I see them play a lot.
00:22 When they do play, I have split jerseys and jackets
00:27 and all kinds of things and bracelets and shoes.
00:30 And I try to be as equal as I possibly can.
00:35 And so I root for the offense.
00:38 That's kind of what I do.
00:39 Whoever has a ball, I'm screaming to get a touchdown
00:42 and it makes life a lot easier.
00:44 Both of the boys are very, very close
00:46 'cause a lot of it was they were with each other
00:48 all the time.
00:49 And there's nothing better to get somebody
00:52 to be better, more competitive, to try harder,
00:56 especially for Travis, is to try to be better
00:59 than somebody that's two years older than him,
01:02 constantly competing to get there.
01:04 And so that was a culmination of years and years and years
01:07 of being with each other and finally reaching that point
01:11 where they were on the field together.
01:14 So it was really special.
01:16 I'm not really that superstitious, really.
01:20 I truly believe that, you know,
01:24 that when a team plays, you know, very, very hard
01:28 and they give it everything they can,
01:30 that that will trump anything, any day to win.
01:34 So I don't have any superstitions,
01:36 but I do have two bracelets from my mother.
01:38 I don't wear them except for game day,
01:41 but she had two Pandora bracelets
01:43 that she wore every single day.
01:45 And she kept adding to it.
01:46 Every year people would give her little things
01:48 from the Eagles or the Chiefs or whatever.
01:52 Every year for birthdays and Christmases
01:55 and everything like that.
01:56 And she passed a couple of years ago.
01:58 So I do wear those two bracelets.
02:02 And this time I get to wear them both.
02:05 No, I think basically they just say, you know,
02:07 please don't take anything that you read personally.
02:11 Sometimes a lot of it's made up, sometimes it's not.
02:13 It depends on the source.
02:15 So you know what you said, you know how you feel.
02:18 And that's the most important thing.
02:20 And just, you know, I'll follow their lead.
02:24 When they tell me I can mention things
02:27 and I can say things, I'll go.
02:28 But in the meantime,
02:29 I'm just gonna keep their stuff private.
02:31 Basically, no, they don't give me a heads up.
02:33 They're guys.
02:35 So they don't really tell their mom everything.
02:37 They're 34 or 36 years old.
02:39 But they do include me in a lot of things,
02:42 you know, like Jason's documentary.
02:46 There's gonna be a second album release this week.
02:51 And so things like that, they include me.
02:54 Things that are important in their life and games.
02:58 I go to every single game that I can.
03:00 In April, I look and see where the home games are
03:03 and try to split between the two of them.
03:05 But basically, when it comes to texting,
03:09 I just text them the date for the game
03:12 and tell them that I wish them all the luck in the world.
03:15 If I can find a funny picture or something
03:18 when they were little that makes sense
03:22 for the particular game.
03:23 Like if they're playing a certain team
03:25 that has a horse as a mascot or something
03:30 or that is in the name,
03:34 I will send them riding one when they were little.
03:38 So things like that, I try to cheer them up that way
03:41 to let them know that they can empower themselves.
03:45 They don't need anybody to do that for them.
03:47 They're very, very competitive
03:50 and they're very, very,
03:51 they just love to compete.
03:56 They love the game of football and I know they've got it.
04:00 Travis can compartmentalize it.
04:02 He can be in the moment and talk to somebody
04:06 and not worry about what else is going on around him.
04:09 Jason at times might have a little bit more issues with that
04:14 but he also is a professional
04:18 and they've dealt with this for years.
04:19 This is just like times 10.
04:21 For that reason, I think they're very happy
04:25 that they've had the success that they have
04:28 and they know that that comes along with it.
04:30 It really made sense to me.
04:31 Family's everything to me
04:33 and our family is football and football is family
04:37 but that's just the way it goes, big sports family.
04:40 Whenever we're together, it's very, very few times
04:45 because we have such busy schedules.
04:48 So we find that we get closer when we reminisce about
04:52 events and looking at old photos and talk about stories
04:56 and sweet memories and things like that.
04:58 When we get together around the holidays and what have you,
05:02 it's so important not only to share the family stories
05:05 but hopefully we can preserve them.
05:07 We can kind of do that with Ancestry.
05:09 I've been an Ancestry customer for many years
05:12 and it was so enlightening for me to hear about my DNA
05:17 and my family tree.
05:19 And I'm especially intrigued at their new tools
05:22 that are available where you can upload recipes,
05:25 you can upload photos, you can even do audio,
05:28 like little stints of audio for future generations.
05:31 100 years from now, they'll be able to hear
05:33 what their great-great-grandmother was like or whatever.
05:36 So that really intrigued me a lot.
05:38 So that's basically why I decided to partner with them.
