Amber Garcia's Fatal Crash @ Chang International Circuit 2019

6-year-old rider Amber Garcia Torres, from the Philippines was badly injured in an accident wich occurred during the seventh and final round of the 2019 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC), held at the Buriram United International Circuit - also known as Chang International Circuit - in Buriram, Thailand, on Monday, 01 December 2019.

About 14h30 o'clock, 31 riders started the second heat of the Underbone 150 cm3 class. Amber Garcia who was making his debut in the series, qualified 27th for the race, riding the #16 Yamaha Sniper 150, entered by UMA Racing Yamaha Philippine Team. He had just won the 2019 Yamaha Sniper 150 National Championship "Road to ARRC", and in sight of the final ARRC event in Buriram, he was accorded a ride for the race.

On third lap, while running in 11th position, he lost control of his bike after colliding with another competitor at Turn 7 and crashed. Greviously injured, Amber Garcia was lying face down and unconscious on the track. He was first rushed to the circuit's Medical Centre, then he was transferred to the ICU unit at the Buriram Hospital.

The youngster underwent four days of receiving emergency treatment but, despite the best efforts of the medical staff of the hospital, Amber Garcia Torres never recovered and succumbed to his injuries at 17h37 on Friday, 05 December 2019.
