Man charged with murder after woman's body found inside Morphett Vale home

An Adelaide man is expected to appear in court on a murder charge this afternoon, after a woman was found unresponsive inside a home last night. Reporter Chris McLoughlin has been at the scene in Adelaide’s southern suburbs.

00:00 Patrols were called to walk court at Morfet Vale in Adelaide South at about 7 o'clock

00:07 last night local time. Police say a 39-year-old woman from Encounter Bay was found unresponsive

00:12 inside a house. A 40-year-old man from Morfet Vale known to the woman was arrested and later

00:18 charged with murder.

00:19 When you actually find out what's going on, you watch your neighbour be handcuffed and

00:23 taken away. It's quite scary. The street gets shut down and you can't leave the house.

00:29 Police are asking you questions that you don't really expect to have to answer on a Sunday

00:35 Detectives have returned to the house this morning to check the interior for more evidence.
