00:00 Well, it's incredibly important to me that we stop the boats.
00:02 That's why at the beginning of this year,
00:03 when I set out my five priorities,
00:05 one of them was clearly to stop the boats.
00:06 The first thing to say is we're making progress.
00:08 People may not know this, that this year,
00:11 because of all the things that we've done,
00:12 the number of illegal migrants crossing to the UK
00:14 is down by a third.
00:16 Everyone told me that wasn't possible,
00:17 but because we worked really hard,
00:19 we're returning thousands of people to places like Albania.
00:22 We've got the numbers down by a third already,
00:24 but we're not gonna stop there.
00:25 That's progress, but I wanna finish the job,
00:27 and that means getting Rwanda up and running.
00:29 I'm determined to do everything it takes to make that happen,
00:32 and that means bringing forward emergency legislation
00:35 that will declare that Rwanda is safe for these purposes.
00:38 We've negotiated a new treaty with them,
00:40 and we will make sure that domestic courts
00:42 cannot block systemically our flights to Rwanda,
00:45 and I've been also very clear
00:47 that I won't let a foreign court stop us getting a flight off.
00:49 That's my plan, and I'm gonna work night and day
00:51 to make it happen.
00:52 People are sick of this merry-go-round.
00:54 I want to end it.
00:55 My patience is wearing thin, like everyone else's.
00:58 That's why our emergency legislation
01:00 will make it crystal clear that Rwanda is safe
01:03 for these purposes.
01:04 It meets all the concerns that people have raised
01:07 because of our new arrangement with them,
01:08 and we wanna stop any more domestic challenges
01:11 to this programme, and I've also been clear
01:14 that we won't let a foreign court stand in the way
01:15 of us getting a flight off to Rwanda.
01:17 It doesn't have to take a long time
01:19 to get legislation through,
01:20 and that's a question for the Labour Party.
01:22 We're determined to get this through as quickly as possible,
01:24 so the real question is, are the Labour Party
01:26 gonna stand in the way and stop this from happening,
01:28 or are they gonna work with us and support this bill
01:31 so we can get it through as quickly as possible?
01:33 I know that the British people want this problem gripped.
01:35 I know the British people will want this new law to pass
01:38 so we can get flights off to Rwanda.
01:40 So really, the question is for Keir Starmer
01:41 and Labour Party.
