What do you think of parking in Broomhill as major shoppers car park closed for resurfacing?

00:05 Well, we always park on the outskirts of Broomhill because yes, it's quite difficult to park in the centre of Broomhill,

00:12 but we don't mind that. We can park on one of the side roads and just walk down.

00:17 It's easier rather than negotiating the traffic and the through traffic,

00:21 that all the parking's gone in front of the shops here.

00:25 I think that's probably a good thing because it always causes lots of parking rage and road rage, people turning right into it.

00:32 I think it's supposed to be just disabled parking now, which I think is probably a good thing.

00:38 I gather that the parking on the top has been closed, but we've not parked there for many years

00:46 because they were very keen on issuing fines if you overstayed by just a couple of minutes,

00:53 so we don't park there at all.

00:55 So, I mean, actually we don't come that often because the shops have all changed in Broomhill now

01:00 and they're not quite what they used to be. So, that's about it really.

01:10 Well, I don't find it too bad at the moment. I've parked on one of the side roads and paid on a metre,

01:25 Well, you can park on top of the shops here if there's space.

01:30 Because that's closed at the moment, isn't it?

01:32 It is, but usually it's pretty chop-a-block.

01:36 They did take away several parking spaces in front of the shops, as you can see here,

01:42 and they've made the only spaces that they've left purely for disabled people

01:48 and there are only spaces for about three cars, whereas you used to be able to get about seven or eight along here

01:54 and that was a hell.

01:57 Generally, for the community here, it's much better if you can park rather than go to the supermarket

02:03 and park in a great car park there to support the local shops, which I think has damaged that quite a bit really.

02:14 Yeah, it's quite a nightmare really because I meet some other mums here on Thursday afternoons for coffee

02:20 and sometimes I'm half an hour late because I can't find anywhere to park.

02:24 When you've got a baby and you're on a time schedule, it's quite difficult trying to find a parking space

02:29 and then have all the time for your coffee as well.

02:31 Have you missed the car park above the shops?

02:34 Yes, absolutely. That's where we were all parking before, so it's been a bit of a nightmare without that.
