One of the parties of the coalition now in control of Poland's parliament has tabled bills to begin legalising abortion up to the 12 weeks of pregnancy.

00:11 up to the 12th week of pregnancy. It would also decriminalise helping a person to obtain
00:16 the procedure. Liberalising the predominantly Catholic country's prohibitive abortion laws
00:21 was a campaign pledge for two of the three parties of the centre-left bloc during the
00:25 recent election campaign. Its victory ended eight years of Conservative rule during which
00:30 access to abortion became increasingly restricted.
