00:00 a certified public accountant and a certified businessman
00:04 to find out the successful business story of Mary Cris Labawan
00:07 here in Negosyo Tayo.
00:09 Food is an important component in any event.
00:14 Finding the right food will surely make this celebration more unforgettable.
00:20 That's why we will be hosting a Lechon Manok business
00:24 to find out their secret to a successful business.
00:30 Hello, businessmen! With me is Ms. Mary Cris Labawan.
00:40 Hi! Ms. Mary Cris!
00:42 Hi! Happy to be here. Nice to meet you.
00:43 Ms. Mary Cris, to start off, can you tell us more about your business story?
00:47 How did you start up with this business?
00:49 When I was a child, Lechon Manok was my favorite.
00:52 Wow!
00:54 So, I thought of, when I'm conceptualizing the business,
00:58 I thought of something that was close to my heart.
01:02 So, when did you start?
01:04 Actually, we just started last September 10.
01:07 So, this is your only?
01:09 Yes, this year.
01:10 But what was your work before, prior to doing business?
01:12 Actually, I'm working. I'm a certified public accountant.
01:15 Wow! Up until now?
01:16 Up until now, yes.
01:17 So, this is just your sideline business?
01:19 Yes. It's a dream business.
01:21 How do you manage your time?
01:22 It's really a struggle and difficult.
01:24 If it's your passion, then it's workable.
01:28 Workable and manageable.
01:30 Are there any struggles along the way, building or establishing the business?
01:34 I mean, you're just two months old, right?
01:37 The struggle is real because first is the time.
01:40 Since I was working, it's really hard to manage time working with the business.
01:45 Of course, conceptualizing.
01:47 The finances, of course.
01:49 You need to have a deep pocket when you're starting the business because you're investing.
01:54 And then, also the operations.
01:57 How will it work?
01:59 The menu, what will people click on?
02:02 How will I market it?
02:04 So, really, there's a lot to think about every day.
02:07 And the product development, of course.
02:10 Are there any lessons that you have learned that you would like to share to our viewers from this business journey?
02:16 Maybe, if there's one lesson, it's do everything with a purpose.
02:20 Because if you're just doing something on your own, for your own selfish reason, you'll fail.
02:29 But if you're doing it with a purpose, because when I started this business, I almost stopped.
02:35 But I think of the people whom this business can help.
02:40 I can satisfy my customers if I put this business, if they taste our products.
02:48 And I really believe in our products.
02:50 Can you share with us any tips, business tips?
02:53 Especially for working mommies also like me who also want to do a side hustle or a side business.
02:59 If you have something in mind or a business in mind, just do it.
03:03 There's no actual formula.
03:05 Even though you have a lot of preparation to do, still, when you're already there, you cannot say that you're fully prepared.
03:12 So, just do it.
03:13 But you still need to prepare and convince yourself that you can do it mentally, emotionally, financially, spiritually.
03:22 And also, trust the people around you.
03:26 And most especially, trust the Lord God Almighty.

03:38 No matter how much you're prepared and how much you know, failure is inevitable.
03:45 What's important is to look at it as a lesson, as an opportunity to improve.
03:51 That's the lesson that Mary-Kris Labawan shared with us.
03:56 We'll talk about new business stories and business tips in our next episode of "Pag-ikita Mga Kanigosyo."
04:02 So, let's go! Let's do business!
