00:00 [Gunshots]
00:12 They shall grow not old, as we that got our left grow old.
00:22 Age it shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
00:26 At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
00:31 We will remember them.
00:34 [Taps]
00:53 [Reveille]
00:58 [Reveille]
01:28 We are now going to commence with the laying of the wreath.
01:35 The Mayor's party, Mr Peter Barry.
01:50 [Reveille]
02:12 Mr Mark Warren MP for Boston and Staten Island.
02:17 [Reveille]
02:36 Lincolnshire County Council.
02:39 [Reveille]
02:56 The Royal British Legion.
02:59 [Reveille]
03:18 Two things have happened today really.
03:21 One is they've got a new standard for the police cadets, of course.
03:25 Which I think that is something out of the ordinary.
03:29 And it's nice to be bringing them into our fold of the community.
03:34 Also, I have my grandson with me, who is actually representing his grandma.
03:40 Because she's in hospital, just had an operation.
03:43 And he's more or less supporting me through the service of the remembrance.
03:49 And, you know, it's remarkable to see him come here and we capture him together.
03:55 And, you know, I've always looked after him in different ways.
03:58 Advising on different things for his army career.
04:02 And he's actually doing so well. I'm so pleased with him.
04:06 So proud of him that he's serving our country.
04:09 And he was only 19 or 20, was he?
04:12 He went to Afghanistan.
04:14 I'm really proud of that.
04:17 Thinking back what today's done, and all these people around us, I think it's a lovely, lovely day.
04:23 And thank you for everybody turning up.
04:25 That's all I can say. Thank you.
04:28 And of course you're wearing some medals yourself for service.
04:32 People will be wondering what service you've done.
04:36 I was in the 7th RHA Parachute Regiment.
04:40 I served there attached to the 16th Brigade.
04:44 I did a few tours with them.
04:47 My grandson is in the commandos, 2-9 commandos.
04:51 And he has served in the 5th Army.
04:55 So it's close to your heart as well today.
04:58 Yes, it is.
05:00 And I've lost a few friends.
05:03 And I'll never forget them.
05:05 And today is a reminder for my friends.
05:09 Now, I'm with Mark Edwards, who's a standard bearer for the Skegness Royal British Legion.
05:16 I understand this is your last year.
05:18 How many years have you been standard bearer for them?
05:21 Two and a half years now.
05:23 So what has it meant to you to be able to do this at Remembrance Days?
05:29 You can give a bit back to the community.
05:32 You can remember the veterans that have fallen so that we can have this here today.
05:37 And that is pride and everything.
05:40 Being a serving member, I take great pride in anything I can do.
05:45 And it just helps.
05:48 So you must be quite sorry to give this up?
05:51 All great things come to an end, I'm afraid.
05:54 And someone who is taking over is more than capable of doing what I can do.
06:00 Next year, I can stand in the crowds and I can have my own thoughts.
06:07 And that's the best feeling I have.
