00:23 the 10th year commemoration anniversary of the disaster of the Yolanda,
00:28 President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. was present at the DOST Handa Pilipinas event in Tacloban, Dine.
00:35 At this event, various inventions or devices were displayed
00:40 that can be used before, during, and after the disaster occurred.
00:45 This is part of the administration's effort to show the government's efforts
00:50 in disaster risk reduction and management, or the effect of the disaster.
00:56 President Marcos said that the inauguration of the Super Typhoon Yolanda,
01:00 10 years ago, is a reminder of the great power of nature
01:05 and the vulnerability of the Philippines here.
01:09 President Marcos trusted the inventions and other products
01:13 that are here at the DOST Handa Pilipinas event to help in relief and rescue operations.
01:20 He also gave the importance of disaster risk reduction and management.
01:25 More importantly, it underscores the importance of disaster risk reduction and management in the Philippines.

01:36 It has been demonstrated during and in the aftermath of Yolanda and of COVID.
01:42 Because of this, President Marcos also said that the government
01:45 will continue to promote the disaster resilience of the country
01:49 while recognizing the DOST's contribution to this in the help of innovative technology.
01:55 The President also noted the emergency food as part of the survival kits.
02:00 I am confident that the technologies featured in this event,
02:03 such as the mobile command post, the triaging trailer tent, the collapsible toilet bowl,
02:09 upgraded emergency disinfection system, fire blankets, unsinkable portabote,
02:15 and water ambulance amongst others will be of great help during relief and rescue operations.
02:21 He also noted the importance of the assistance of government agencies,
02:26 LGUs, private sectors, and communities.
02:29 The world is rapidly changing.
02:31 It is imperative that our ways and our strategies adapt and improve as well.
02:36 So my fellow Filipinos, let us remember the lessons of the past.
02:40 Not with despair, but with the determination to learn and to change for the better.
