00:24 Hi. Welcome to Learn Guitar with David Brent.
00:29 [Music]
00:39 This song, a little bit of a foot stomper, sort of rocky, indie, indie country.
00:47 Quite hard hitting, very social. I like to sing about issues, you've seen that.
00:55 And this is about a young girl who made what some would call a mistake.
01:02 And it's about, you know, is it? She's a young mum.
01:05 And I just get sick of all this stuff like, you know, teenage pregnancy.
01:08 Oh, there's too much of it, there's too much teenage pregnancy. Is there? Is there?
01:13 You know, I'd rather someone had a kid and they're young enough to bring it up and play with it
01:18 as opposed to, you know, Bob Howell's mum who was like in her 50s when she had him.
01:25 And, you know, a bit embarrassing really, taking him to school.
01:32 I go, is that your nan? No, it's my mum. She's a wreck. Yeah, she's in her 70s.
01:36 You know, so, and like school sports day, three-legged race, just dragging an old lady along whose hip's gone.
01:44 It's not, do you know what I mean? Forget breastfeeding.
01:49 So this is about, you know, living with that, making the most of it.
01:53 You know, because what could have come? What comes from that mistake? It's a human being.
02:00 This is called Your Why I Breathe.

02:17 Bringing up baby on your own is tough. Working two jobs just to earn enough.
02:23 Yeah, she could have been an actress, she could have been a star, but she went too far in the back of a car.
02:29 She tells her, baby, don't be like me. Stay in school, live your dreams.
02:35 But I would not change a single thing, 'cause then I wouldn't have you, and that's why I breathe.
02:42 [Music]
02:50 Just a small town girl seeking small town danger. She hung in a bar with an out-of-town stranger.
02:57 Just a little high, just a little far. She changed her future in the back of a Ford.
03:03 She tells her, baby, don't be like me. Stay in school, live your dreams.
03:09 But I would not change a single thing, then I wouldn't have you, and that's why I breathe.
03:16 Yeah, she tells her, baby, don't be like me. Stay in school, live your dreams.
03:24 But I would not change a single thing, 'cause then I wouldn't have you, and that's why I breathe.

03:47 Phew! Wow. I hope you've enjoyed this series of Learn Guitar with moi, David of Brint.
03:59 I've loved it. I need a lie down now. Back soon, hopefully, with a whole new bunch of songs.
04:07 I might take these out on the road as well, so see you there. Yeah, it's been a blast.
04:15 And do keep the questions coming. Absolutely love these.
04:19 They're, you know, inspiring to hear from your audience. Fan feedback.
04:29 Like this one. You don't know me, but your music has touched me on such a deep level.
04:35 Do you like touching strangers?
04:47 Cheers.
