Byomkesh continues his investigation and eventually uncovers a plot by Rekha's family to kill her. Rekha's family had hired a professional assassin to kill her, and the assassin had used a special type of arrow that was designed to leave no trace.

Byomkesh confronts Rekha's family, and they confess to the murder. Byomkesh also recovers the assassin's arrow, and he is able to identify the assassin. The assassin is arrested, and Rekha's family is charged with murder.
