00:00 I run over 200 mile an hour, three and a half seconds.
00:04 Door Slammers are cars with doors on them that make monster amount of horsepower.
00:27 My car is fast, bad to the bone, and always on edge.
00:34 In an eighth of a mile, I run over 200 mile an hour in three and a half seconds.
00:40 I drive a 2014 Corvette.
00:49 The car has a 526 Brad Anderson engine and air motor.
00:56 This car makes 3,800 horsepower.
00:59 We started racing probably 10, 15 years ago just going to the racetrack on Friday nights with the street car.
01:10 That escalated into what we're doing now.
01:13 Five, six years ago, we partnered with a man called Gil Mobley.
01:18 He's been racing small tire racing for the last 10, 15 years.
01:21 He was always the man to beat.
01:23 Now, he's partnered with us, and we are the ones to beat on race day.
01:28 The car has held multiple records since it's been built back in 2014.
01:33 It has won multiple races.
01:36 I have won a couple of Outlaw 10.5 races back when I ran that class.
01:42 So far, I've only won one Radio vs. World Race.
01:45 I was here last year. I won the Outlaw 10.5 category.
01:50 This year, I'm here running Radio vs. World, which is the premier category at this race.
01:56 Back when we ran Outlaw 10.5, the car was first to the 80s.
02:05 First to the 70s.
02:09 And we were picking up more steam, so they kicked us out of the class.
02:13 And we had to start running Radio vs. World.
02:17 This is my 2014 Advanced Point Built Corvette.
02:21 We have a 5.6 Pratt & Anderson motor.
02:24 We do most of the work for ourselves.
02:29 But we also have a fire approach race engine, so we don't need a professional motor.
02:33 On top of that, we have a screw flow application.
02:37 So, on the inside, we have a Neal Chance torque converter.
02:43 The tie drive is hooked together to a Lincoln transmission.
02:47 That's hooked together to the driveshaft to a Mark Williams rear.
02:50 The car is on a 315 drag radial.
02:53 This year, the car is on a 315 drag radial.
02:56 I didn't know a whole lot about racing.
03:16 I was fortunate to get enough people to help me, teach me along the way, and get me where I needed to be.
03:22 What I can do then is pass that on to my son.
03:24 The mistakes I've made, the things that I've done wrong, to make him a better driver.
03:29 He can get there a whole lot quicker than I did.
03:31 On 368, again.
03:33 I've been racing against my father for the past two and a half years.
03:37 It is very competitive because we both bring out the best in each other.
03:41 But no matter at the end of the day, no matter who wins, as long as one of us comes out on top.
