The scene from the musical Les Misérables where the young boy Gavroche gives his life for the revolution and the dream of a better world made me cry when I first saw it on stage some 15 years ago, and it still does.
The video is from the 2006 Nipomo High School production of Les Miz with David Carlson as Gavroche. I highly recommend the 10th Anniversary Dream Cast in Concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall DVD starring Colm Wilkinson (Valjean), Michael Ball (Marius), Alun Armstrong (Thenardier), Judy Kuhn (Cosette), Lea Salonga (Eponine), Michael Maguire (Enjolras), Ruthie Henshall (Fantine), and Philip Quast (Javert).
