00:00 It all started when I was dismissed from the hospital.
00:03 A friend of mine told me,
00:05 "I think you should tell your story to a journalist, Aldo Cazzullo.
00:10 And you should also tell your experience
00:17 regarding the use of antidepressants, psychotropic drugs and everything else."
00:22 And it was the right choice.
00:25 After that interview, which was read by millions of people,
00:31 and it went very well,
00:33 I started to understand how much of this was an emergency.
00:41 I want to give a couple of numbers.
00:44 The ISTAT data tells us that
00:47 the adolescents belonging to Generation Z, Gen Z,
00:52 are 2 million people who suffer from mental health problems.
01:00 The WHO tells us that
01:02 the second cause of mortality among adolescents is suicide.
01:08 The Institute for Health and Welfare tells us that
01:11 in Italy, we would need one psychologist per thousand inhabitants.
01:16 In Italy, we have less than three psychologists per 100,000 inhabitants.
01:22 And then there is the IPHA report, which is the most problematic.
01:28 It says that among the 20 most prescribed drugs in Italy,
01:33 covered by the national health system,
01:36 6 are antidepressants or anxiolytics.
01:40 What does this mean?
01:42 The data tells us that the adults who are in charge of this,
01:46 are in control.
01:48 They know what this means.
01:50 We are talking about a tangible, concrete emergency
01:53 that no person with decision-making power in this country is talking about.
01:57 It is not at the centre of any political debate.
02:00 - All the things that are not seen.
02:02 - Exactly.
02:03 I wanted to take the opportunity of this interview to say one thing.
02:07 The government has allocated 25 million euros for the psychologist bonus,
02:12 which only covers 10% of the question.
02:15 So 90% of the people have been left with their mouths shut.
02:19 With the new financial system, this government has decided to cut
02:23 these 25 million, which were still insufficient,
02:26 and bring them to 5 million euros.
02:28 So what I would like to ask,
02:30 in support of the President of the Council, Giorgia Meloni and Giorgetti,
02:36 is that you do not cut this money in the new financial system,
02:39 because it would mean spitting in the face of the families who need it.
02:43 As for my commitment to this issue,
02:55 it is that with my foundation, my goal, my dream,
02:58 which I have matured and which I would like to carry forward,
03:01 it is to open a center of aggregation that provides free health care
03:06 to teenagers and young people with mental health problems.
