00:00 Israeli soldiers have entered Gaza, but the civilians who are being held are still not allowed to leave the Gaza-Egypt border.
00:10 A family member prayed that they would still be alive when the border crossing is open.
00:18 From Giza in Egypt, Raffi Chima is live. Raffi?
00:27 Mel Pasado, this afternoon in Giza, in Greater Cairo, Egypt,
00:32 their time difference from here to the Philippines has moved by 6 hours,
00:39 from just 5 hours yesterday because their daylight saving time is over.
00:43 And now, Mel, we are still waiting for news on when the Raffa border crossing will open,
00:50 especially for our Filipino countrymen who are waiting in Gaza.
00:54 The situation is really dangerous.
00:57 Israeli military has entered the Gaza Strip, but this is just a targeted ground operation and not a full-scale invasion.
01:09 Several Hamas militant leaders died in the attack by IDF Special Forces, Lulan, the tanks.
01:14 The raiding team immediately returned to Israeli territory after their incursion in Gaza.
01:20 In the middle of the continued Israeli attack in Gaza, where Hamas is hiding,
01:24 a group said that 50 of their hostages were taken by the Israeli bomb.
01:29 The cries of civilians who are trapped in the chaos continue.
01:32 In the middle of the unceasing bombing, a Palestinian journalist for Al Jazeera Network found out
01:38 that his entire family was killed while he was reporting on the chaos.
01:44 In the new videos that were sent to GMI Integrated News by Diana, a Filipino who is with those who are waiting to flee Gaza,
01:51 a long line of people in a bakery that is still open in the Raffa Governorate can be seen.
01:58 In the long line, many of the people are starving and going home without bread.
02:04 And to avoid the daily bombing, the Gaza people are moving their houses almost every day.
02:11 Many of them are just walking.
02:14 In another video sent by Diana, a pistol hit a strong wall in this part of Gaza
02:20 because almost all houses collapsed after being hit by a bomb.
02:25 Ten of these houses may have been left for the bodies because of their destruction.
02:31 Aside from the depleted supply of food and water, the spread of the disease is a problem for many patients in hospitals.
02:40 In my conversation with Diana's husband, he said that the bombing is not only a problem for her,
02:45 but also for the places where Israel itself said that the bombing was safe, the air strikes are also being targeted.
02:51 I hope they are still alive when the border crossing opens for those like them and their husband
02:57 who has been waiting for two weeks to flee Gaza.
03:05 When we talked to Diana's husband, he also found out that the UN Security Council has not passed
03:10 the plan to have a ceasefire in the chaos so that the civilians in Gaza can rest.
03:15 And this is what they are reminding their husbands now.
03:18 If there will not be a temporary ceasefire, when will the border be opened for those who want to flee?
03:25 It's something we should continue to watch out for.
03:27 Mel?
03:28 Yes, Raffi, that's what they are hoping for, the opening of the border.
03:33 But Raffi, what is the chance that the border will be opened this weekend or even next week?
03:40 For now, Mel, even though the UN Security Council's plan to have a ceasefire has not been approved,
03:49 many countries are calling for it.
03:51 But if there will be a ceasefire, will it be possible this weekend?
03:55 It's still a bit unclear because there are many parties that need to agree on the ceasefire
04:00 and the establishment of a humanitarian corridor that will be needed to save the people who want to flee Gaza.
04:08 But we don't know yet, Mel, because maybe now the ceasefire has already been planned.
04:13 And we don't know, maybe later this afternoon they will announce it.
04:17 And if they do that, within 24 to 36 hours, the border will possibly be opened.
04:22 So we are still hoping.
04:24 The people of the embassy here in Cairo are ready at any time if the Egyptian authorities say that they will advance to the border
04:30 to follow our fellow countrymen.
04:32 Mel?
04:33 Let's pray for the earliest time.
04:37 Thank you very much, Raffi Tima.
