Tim Hay's Fatal Crash @ Eddyville Raceway Park 2010 (Report)

Tim Hay, a well-known drag racer from Burleson, Texas, crashed with fatal consequences during the 2010 World Fuel Altered Nationals at Eddyville drag strip in Iowa.

Hay had started his career in 1977 at Texas Raceway in Kennedale. After a few years in the Pro class he quit drag racing and turned his attention to motocross. He returned to dragsters after about 15 years, purchasing a top fuel car in 1999 and then moving to outlaw fuel altereds in 2005. In his first OFAA season he finished 7th in points.

Tim Hay drove the "High Voltage Hayride", a 125" 23T chassis equipped with a 427 CI Chevy. With this car he won several races, including two World Fuel Altered Nationals, in 2006 and 2009.
