00:00 Markets have ended in the red for the sixth consecutive trading day.
00:04 There is a lot of worry out there about what exactly is happening.
00:08 I have spent the day speaking to some of the largest and biggest market voices,
00:13 veterans to figure out what's ailing Indian markets.
00:17 Now broadly, this is the sense I'm getting.
00:19 You know, after a binge, like a holiday season or something,
00:23 you tend to go on a diet.
00:25 This is kind of what we're seeing in the Indian markets.
00:29 A detox after a period of binge.
00:32 And most of these healthy cleanses always have a trigger.
00:36 In this case, the trigger is geopolitics and the US markets primarily.
00:42 The fact that the US treasury has crossed the 5% mark means it's hit a psychological barrier.
00:49 And that is weighing on Indian markets.
00:52 We're seeing that in the kind of foreign investors selling as well.
00:56 Then you have other geopolitical concerns, the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict, etc.
01:02 So what are top market investors saying?
01:04 Let me just take you through some of the voices I managed to connect with today
01:08 and important voices on such a day.
01:11 So Manish Chokhani, director of Enam Holdings, says valuation excesses,
01:17 particularly in mid and small cap stocks, are being corrected in this sell-off.
01:23 He goes on to say, though, that for all value proposition investors,
01:28 any kind of dip is a great opportunity to buy.
01:32 And that is a consistent theme that I have been seeing across all the market experts
01:36 that I've been talking to today.
01:38 That it's about finding opportunity at these kind of dips, but also about a clean-up drive.
01:46 Look at what Nilesh Shah says, and it's a great quote from him.
01:49 He says, "In the last few months, we have seen kachara stocks outperforming quality.
01:55 Donkeys can outperform horses for a while, but not for long."
01:59 He, of course, also says that this is a great time for value investors to come into the markets.
02:05 But what do you now invest in?
02:08 Well, Nilesh Shah from Envision says,
02:10 "This is the time to keep some of your powder dry and choose very carefully and very wisely."
