00:00 I was more into my parents and their friends,
00:03 like Bob Newhart and his wife Ginny.
00:06 (claps)
00:10 I wanted to be with the grownups, even when I was a kid.
00:13 I was very into being with the grownups.
00:15 In life, a lot of people are just, you know,
00:19 they're okay, but they're kind of maybe bland or whatever.
00:22 And all the people that were friends with my parents
00:25 were always very funny, and they were, you know,
00:28 whether they were comics or whether they were actors,
00:31 they were always fun and they were very charismatic.
00:35 You know, they were friends with people
00:36 like Ricardo Montalban from "Fantasy Island,"
00:39 Sidney Poitier, who of course, not that he was so funny,
00:43 but he was very charismatic and he would walk into a room,
00:47 you know, and it was a major present.
00:48 And then, you know, with the Newharts,
00:51 the kids, they had four kids and myself, my brother,
00:55 and we all would, when we'd go on trips,
00:58 we'd go to Hawaii, we'd all be together.
01:00 And I would want to be like with my mother
01:03 and Ginny Newhart, Bob's wife,
01:05 and then Rita Vail was the wife of Jerry Vail, the singer.
01:08 And I would sort of want to be with the grownups.
01:11 People that are interesting, that have lived a life,
01:13 that have something to say,
01:15 is much more interesting to me
01:17 than someone that's just sitting there at their computer
01:20 or taking selfies of themselves, you know,
01:22 and getting their hair extensions a little bit longer,
01:26 you know, and Real Housewives everywhere,
01:29 which I do love, but you know,
01:31 I like to think there's more to life than that.
