00:00 You need to understand about Blink-182 is that we didn't come out of like joyous homes.

00:05 We came from a lot of heartbreak, broken families, fistfights.

00:09 So Blink was always a way to force the happiness in the room.

00:12 It's not only like a competition but a collaboration.

00:15 When Travis joined the band it just blew things sky high.

00:25 You know there was a lot of bad blood and there was a lot of stuff in the press and

00:29 feelings and all this stuff.

00:30 You know, email was like, "Thomas stopped all recording and work with Blink-182 effective

00:34 immediately.

00:35 Don't call him."

00:36 All this stuff.

00:37 I'm like, "Jesus Christ."

00:38 Don't look at me with these cameras.

00:41 Quite frankly, a lot of people thought that you left Blink-182 to become professionally

00:44 crazy.

00:45 I found myself in these weird oceans that I didn't know really how to navigate.

00:48 I definitely didn't want to hold these guys back in any kind of way.

00:52 We're like, "Fuck Tom DeLonge.

00:54 If he doesn't like Blink, then fuck it."

00:57 I remember telling my wife now, "I don't think I'm ever going to play music again.

01:00 I don't think I'm ever going to tour again."

01:02 Until Mark told me he was sick.

01:03 And then I was like, "That was the only thing I wanted to do."

01:06 When I found out that I got sick, I was really shitty, weak, brain eaten with the chemotherapy

01:14 and pain and everything else.

01:15 Just a hollow shell.

01:26 When he told me he was sick, that's the gnarliest.

01:30 Nothing matters, really.

01:32 But when I look to my right here, the brain is not in it.

01:37 On the album, "One More Time" is written about why does it take these catastrophes,

01:42 like me being in a plane crash or Mark being sick, for our band to get back together.

01:48 I always knew that the brotherhood wouldn't ever deteriorate or wouldn't be there.

01:54 I really feel like Blink is us three.

01:57 And as soon as we accept that and we just don't settle for anything less than that,

02:04 I just think that's the future.

02:05 It wasn't about fame or money or how big Blink was or anything.

02:10 It was like, "You're going to get through this shit and we're going to go dominate."

02:13 I got so sick of hearing Tom's positive shit.

02:15 I really did.

02:16 Like, "You're going to do great.

02:17 You're going to get through this.

02:18 You're going to crush this."

02:19 On the days where I just wanted to wallow, I don't want to be positive.

02:23 I call him up and go, "Hey, it's me again."

02:26 Chemotherapy wrecked my vocal cords.

02:28 I had to go work with a vocal coach to get to the point where we could go and walk on

02:33 stage at Coachella.

02:38 When it's the three of us on stage, I feel unstoppable.

02:47 For me, it was always heavy on my heart that our friendship wasn't mended.

02:51 All of us have lived through tragedies now, things that really tear apart pieces of your

02:55 heart and you've got to mend them back together and figure out how to be a better version

02:59 Being in a band with my brothers and it being healthy and we're having fun and playing some

03:07 of the best shows we've ever played and we're making some of the best songs we've made.
