The Blacksmith, also known as 'Blacksmith' or 'A blacksmith courted me', tells the tale of a woman betrayed by her amour.
Usually performed as an up-tempo song, (with some notable exceptions) Caitlin's version is a 'Gothic retelling'; a darkly subversive rendition of this classic, traditional English folksong.
The song features on Caitlin's latest folk EP, 'Sky West & Crooked'.
