00:00 It's official, Taylor Swift is going to be at the big game Sunday to cheer on her

00:06 new boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

00:08 She says she spent time with the entire Kelce family, including mom Donna.

00:13 Taylor Swift literally turned NFL star Travis Kelce into an overnight celebrity.

00:19 NFL player Travis Kelce joked a bit about this after becoming more famous because of

00:26 his growing romance with Taylor Swift.

00:34 So by the way, him and his brother, who also is an NFL player, Jason Kelce, revealed on

00:40 their podcast called New Heights that it had become very popular as well as their podcast

00:47 had reached number one on different platforms in October of 2023.

00:53 Jason had added these comments, "We are officially on the map.

00:58 Both Travis and I have officially been put on the map."

01:01 And then Travis himself responded saying "Just when you think you've been skating away

01:07 from it."

01:11 Also the sports apparel shop Fanatics.com reported a 400% increase in Travis Kelce's

01:19 jersey sales, which put him in the top 5 players in the NFL.

01:24 And jokingly, his brother Jason said "Nothing out of the ordinary from week 3, so can't

01:29 really explain why the boost in viewership, but we appreciate you guys tuning in."

01:35 Obviously he's saying this tongue in cheek because clearly he knows that it's because

01:38 of Taylor Swift.

01:44 But as much as Travis is already a star in his own right, there's no doubt that his

01:51 name being associated with Taylor Swift has made him more mainstream.

01:57 The Taylor Swift effect is definitely a real thing, but it can also be a problem.

02:02 Because Travis also thinks that the NFL and NBC are going way too far with their coverage

02:08 of Taylor Swift and their relationship.

02:20 He did go on to say this "I think it's fun when they show who's at the game,"

02:31 But how did Travis and Taylor get connected anyway?

02:35 So check it out, in August of 2023, Travis admitted on the podcast that he had a crush

02:41 on Taylor Swift.

02:49 And when Taylor heard about this, she attended the Kansas City Chiefs week 3 game against

02:54 the Chicago Bears and spent time with Donna Kelce, which is Travis and Jason's mother.

03:01 Cameras captured Taylor and Travis leaving the stadium together.

03:05 And the next week, she traveled to New York City to watch the Chiefs play the New York

03:10 Jets, bringing friends like Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively.

03:16 But unlike her previous relationship with Joe Alwyn, Taylor has been very public about

03:22 her new relationship with Travis.

03:25 Although I don't think there's any label that has been put on the relationship at the time

03:28 of this recording, they're kind of just a thing, not necessarily boyfriend/girlfriend

03:33 yet.

03:34 But besides being seen together at some games, they were also spotted together at an afterparty

03:41 in Kansas City.

03:42 And since Taylor is a huge star, obviously her connection with football and Travis Kelce

03:49 brings in some extra media attention.

03:52 And the NFL is definitely trying to make the most of it, they're trying to capitalize on

03:56 this.

03:57 A lot of fans, known as Swifties, suddenly have a rising interest in football and they're

04:03 talking about it on social media like never before.

04:06 So it's great for the sport, it brings more people that weren't necessarily interested

04:10 in football, gets them interested.

04:12 However, some football fans are a little bit annoyed because they don't want the focus

04:16 to shift too much on Taylor Swift and turn it into the Taylor Swift Show every time Travis

04:21 Kelce is playing a game.

04:23 So there's always a flip side to fame here.
