Close-up video footage shows red paint splattered on BBC headquarters before it was cleaned - following a visit from a vandal in the early hours.

Pictures and video have emerged from immediately after the building on Langham Street was doused with paint.

An eyewitness working nearby spotted the paint around 2.30am, not long after the vandalism took place.

It is yet unknown if the act is linked to the ongoing conflict in Israel.

They said: "The doors were very well covered, it seems the vandal had circled back several times.

"Police arrived within minutes and blocked off the entrance.

"I don't know anything in terms of intentions, I can only try to put two and two together, but it's very strange."
