00:00 Hello and welcome back to downtown Rotherham. I'm Sports Editor Nick Westby.
00:04 Unfortunately I'm not out on the road as I have been the last few weeks back in the office
00:08 building up to a busy weekend in our Sports Weekend supplement.
00:11 First off we're talking Rugby League. It's the Super League Grand Final.
00:15 It's also the small matter of a new head coach at Castleford Tigers.
00:18 James O'Brien brings us all the news there.
00:21 It's a busy weekend out in France for the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals.
00:25 England vs Fiji is the home interest but games between Ireland and New Zealand
00:31 and particularly France vs South Africa are taking top billing.
00:35 Cricket wise England continue their World Cup quest down in India against Afghanistan on Sunday.
00:41 And football wise Stuart Rayner is with the international team down at Wembley Stadium
00:45 as England host Australia in an international friendly.
00:49 Plus we'll build up to a few League 2 games including Bradford, Doncaster and Harrogate
00:54 and we get to meet the new head coach of Sheffield Wednesday who's been appointed on Friday afternoon.
01:00 Also this weekend in football it's the FA Cup qualifying round and two teams in particular
01:05 Scarborough and Whitby just one win away from the first round proper.
01:09 Elsewhere we're talking netball with Dan Busfield, the managing director of Leeds Rhinos
01:15 after the announcement this week that Netball England want to move towards professionalism in 2025.
