Putin arrives in Kyrgyzstan on a rare trip abroad

Russian President Vladimir Putin visits Kyrgyzstan, marking a rare international trip amidst his indictment by the International Criminal Court for war crimes in Ukraine. During his visit to Bishkek, Putin met with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and participated in an event celebrating the 20th anniversary of a Russian airbase in Kyrgyzstan. He is also set to attend the Commonwealth of Independent States summit hosted by Kyrgyzstan, alongside leaders from other member countries.
