00:06 There are significant combat operations ongoing,

00:09 and we are preparing for future

00:12 and the continuance of our combat operations,

00:14 and out of an understanding that there are civilians here

00:18 whom are not our enemy, and we do not want to target them.

00:22 We are asking them to evacuate

00:24 so that we will be able to continue

00:26 to strike military targets belonging to Hamas

00:30 in the Gaza Strip.

00:32 That is the purpose, and I think that's an important update

00:36 relevant for you to be aware of.

00:38 This is a first notice that we gave.

00:42 We understand that this will take time.

00:44 It's not an easy process, but we have issued this guidance,

00:49 and the aim of the evacuation is simply to save lives.

00:53 As you may have read in the media,

00:55 this was communicated to UN authorities,

00:59 first and foremost to UN authorities,

01:00 and the IDF is in communications and liaison

01:05 with UN authorities, transferring information to them,

01:09 and also listening to what the UN informs Israel

01:13 about the humanitarian situation in Gaza,

01:16 and as I've said many times during the last seven days,

01:21 the IDF remains fully committed

01:23 to the law of international conflict.

01:25 We will carry ourselves accordingly

01:27 in sharp contrast to the enemies around us and to Hamas,

01:32 which is in total disregard of anything related to values,

01:38 norms, and definitely not the laws of armed conflict.

01:41 Things that are important for everyone to know, I think,

01:45 are related to casualties.

01:47 Unfortunately, the number of Israeli casualties

01:50 has risen again to 1,300 Israeli civilians and soldiers,

01:55 and more than 3,000 wounded.

01:57 There is a massive national effort

02:00 involving almost all of the security organizations

02:03 and many of the ministries of the Israeli state,

02:07 which is focused on taking the bodies

02:09 from the same communities that we spoke about yesterday,

02:12 like, for instance, Kfar Aza, Be'eri, and Nachal Hoz,

02:17 and many other communities,

02:19 and the entire southern area, collecting the bodies,

02:23 bringing them to a center in Tel Aviv, identifying them,

02:28 and then making sure that their next of kin,

02:30 their loved ones, are able to take them

02:33 and to provide them a final and respectable burial.

02:37 That's ongoing.

02:38 It is a tedious and long and very detailed process,

02:42 taking lots of resources.

02:44 We have never, ever in our history

02:48 been forced to deal with such a situation,

02:50 and it is ongoing.

02:53 It will take days, and as we match and identify

02:58 more and more of the Israeli bodies

03:00 that are uncovered in the communities,

03:02 we will have more information about missing persons

03:06 and perhaps the whereabouts of people

03:09 that we are still, at this stage,

03:11 not aware of where they are,

03:12 and clearly, loved ones are looking for them,

03:15 asking questions, and demanding those answers,

03:19 and we are working hard at providing those answers.

03:23 Other than that, the northern front,

03:27 which we have spoken about a few times,

03:30 has been relatively stable over the last hours.

03:33 We are on high alert on the north,

03:36 as we have been over the last few days,

03:38 with enhanced troops, vigilant,

03:40 watching the actions of Hezbollah,

03:43 and same thing could be said about the Golan Heights.

03:47 So we spoke about Lebanon and the Golan Heights.

03:49 As we begin the seventh day of this war against Hamas,

03:56 I wish to emphasize what our aim is.

04:01 Our aim is to take all of Hamas's military abilities

04:06 and strip them away.

04:08 At the end of this war, our intention is

04:11 that Hamas will no longer have any ability

04:15 to strike or harm or kill Israeli civilians.

04:19 That is the purpose of what we are doing now

04:21 inside the Gaza Strip.

04:23 That is why the Israeli Air Force

04:25 has been delivering significant amounts

04:28 of ordnance, of bombs, on the Gaza Strip,

04:31 and that is what we will continue to do

04:33 as this war unfolds, and as we will deal

04:37 a decisive blow to Hamas for the horrible

04:40 kindness and kindness of the people of Gaza.

04:43 and never miss an update.
