00:29 Mohamed Afzal was arrested in Malaysia last night in Naya Terminal 3.
00:33 His luggage was found by smugglers.
00:35 He was immediately arrested in an interdiction operation by PDEA, Bureau of Customs and Bureau of Immigration.
00:41 The 3.7 kg of shabu was found with more than P25 million worth of goods.
00:46 He was bought in improvised pouches made from packing tape and was found in his suitcase.
00:51 We smelled him in our narcotics detection dog.
00:54 And there was a 100% examination by our Bureau of Customs examiner.
01:00 And there, the illegal substance was found concealed in the false compartment of his luggage.
01:11 From Malaysia, Afzal left Madagascar and transited to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia.
01:16 Authorities suspected that instead of going straight to Malaysia, the suspect even hitched a stop in the Philippines.
01:22 The country's drug trade is also a red flag for Afzal's countrymen.
01:27 Initially, he said that his job is a personal driver.
01:34 And he went to Madagascar from Malaysia to just tour, to visit the beaches there.
01:44 And allegedly, his boss asked him to go to Madagascar.
01:53 And apparently, he has a friend who sent him a luggage to go to the Philippines.
02:03 The suspect denied that he is the owner of the luggage.
02:06 He said that he was just being asked to do so.
