00:03 Yeah, it's a tough one to swallow.

00:09 Haven't really had too much time to digest it all, because obviously it got out there at the end.

00:15 It certainly felt like conditions were nipping around, it was quite steep bounce out there.

00:23 We probably saw right at the back end there, the dew really came in and it probably played a part,

00:30 but we didn't have any batters left.

00:33 So yeah, in summation, just lost too many wickets early.

00:37 What was the umpires explaining to you and Marcus after that decision was ruled out with the court behind?

00:45 The umpires really didn't know what was going on.

00:48 They just saw what we saw, so it wasn't really too much going on.

00:54 I mean, for me it looked like, and I was on field, I can't see, but it looked like his hand was off the bat,

01:00 it hit the glove, and so because they didn't go to the side on angle,

01:05 Marcus and I were just asking, have they checked, because they just saw the spike from the front on,

01:11 and they didn't get a close-up zoom in of the side, well, sorry, not one that we had.

01:19 And that just looked, it looked like there was clear daylight between the two gloves and the handle.

01:27 But once again, I have been into the third umpire room and the screens are big and everything's much clearer

01:33 than me standing in the middle looking at a pretty pixelated screen.

01:40 Robbata and Ngeiti looked like a particular handful tonight.

01:43 What did they do so well and why were they so effective tonight?

01:46 The conditions, one, they bowled a nice length, a length that was tough for scoring,

01:52 and yeah, the ball just sort of did the talking for them.

01:58 They, yeah, they just bowled a terrific length, the ball was swinging, the ball was seeming,

02:22 Just what was your take on that? Steve took quite a long time to leave as well after that.

02:26 I mean, I see what everyone else sees on the screen now.

02:32 I was looking at the screen and I actually said to Joel, good decision.

02:36 Because from front on it just looked like it was going down leg straight away.

02:40 And Steve was like, oh, what do you think? I was like, nah, I don't even think it's close.

02:47 I felt like the angle was pushing down leg and he usually plays that sort of shot where he leaves his leg out.

02:54 He doesn't cross over like most normal batters. He leaves his leg out of the way.

02:59 So his leg's always, you know, maybe it's hit him on leg stump and then drifting down.

03:03 But for the ball, I mean, I haven't seen the final footage, but it looked like it must have hit him on leg

03:09 and then almost straightened onto the stumps.

03:12 Yeah, it just wasn't what it felt like out there.

03:16 But once again, I can't argue with technology. Or not right now.

03:21 Yeah, we'll wait for it. Just a lot of drop catches and the fielding was a little sloppy, Manish.

03:27 Is it just, I mean, there's already talk that maybe you guys have played too much cricket leading into this World Cup

03:32 or can you just sum it up? Like what was going on out there?

03:36 I can't speak for each individual on how much cricket we've played.

03:41 We certainly have played a lot, but I'm not here to sit and make excuses.

03:44 We're playing the World Cup for Australia. We have to be ready. We have to be better than that.

03:50 Yeah, it's hard to put your finger on it. I mean, you know, we're one of the best fielding sides in the world.

03:57 We pride ourselves on that. And, you know, we just didn't seem to get it right today.

04:02 You know, we created opportunities and just didn't take them.

04:06 And yeah, it just wasn't a great performance from us.

04:10 But we have to bounce back and get this train rolling.

04:15 Manish, when you went into the rooms there after you went out, what was the mood like, you know, given the nature of such a heavy defeat?

04:25 I mean, I wasn't really taking too much notice of the mood. I was fuming that I got out.

04:31 Yeah, I mean, people are down, but we also know we've got a job, right?

04:37 Like, yeah, we can be disappointed about this performance.

04:40 We can be disappointed about lots of things, how we played.

04:43 But the reality is, yeah, you can't sit and soak in the change rooms.

04:46 We've got to take action and we've got to get our tournament underway.

04:51 You know, in three days' time, we've got Sri Lanka here.

04:55 And, you know, I don't know how - this is my first World Cup - but I don't know how the points system works.

05:01 But we're going to need to win every game from here, I assume, or at least very, very close to get into that four.

05:10 But once again, you know, it's the reason Australia's won the World Cup, I think, five times.

05:15 Because, well, we play well under pressure and we haven't started well, but this is the beginning, not the end.

05:21 Does it shake your confidence at all that the team has what it takes to compete against these top sides?

05:28 Well, I'd consider us one of the top sides.

05:32 And it's disappointing that we haven't competed in the last two games.

05:37 But, yeah, we've just got to make sure we're learning from the scenarios.

05:43 I mean, we face probably two polar opposite extremes.

05:47 You know, heavy spin conditions against probably three of the best - well, two of the best spinners India's probably ever produced.

05:55 And then probably one of the best white ball spinners.

05:58 And then, you know, here against the seeming swing ball against a team that's also very good in those conditions.

06:06 So we've got to get better and we've got to make sure that we, you know, come back stronger for the next fixture.

06:13 Manus, just back to the Marcus dismissal.

06:15 It looked like there was quite a bit of chat with the South Africans on the field at the time as well.

06:19 Were they also a bit surprised and maybe didn't know what was going on?

06:23 Or what was the reaction there?

06:25 Yeah, I mean, I think people would have seen, you know, everyone saw the same thing out there.

06:31 I'm not sure what they were thinking.

06:33 I think there was some talk, maybe it hit the handle a little bit.

06:36 I don't know what they were saying on the - but yeah, it looked - it was certainly confusing.

06:43 And I'm sure we'll get clarity or going to seek for clarity because, you know, it's a World Cup.

06:49 And, you know, we don't want, you know, small decisions that can be avoided to change the outcomes of games.

06:56 Obviously, in the situation we're in, it's hard to say that it was going to change the outcome.

07:01 But, you know, for the future, you certainly want to make sure we get them right.
