Wong Teck Sing's Fatal Crash @ Mira Airport 2016 (Aftermath)

A well known driver amongst the drag racing enthusiasts in the state of Sarawak, Malaysia, Wong Teck Sing, 37, lost his life during a drag race held on the the old Miri Airport, near Miri located near the border of Brunei, on the island of Borneo in northeastern Sarawak, Malaysia.

The accident happened around 13h40 on Sunday, 08 May 2016. Wong Teck Sing lost control of his Honda Civic SB3 after crossing the finish line on his final run. The car skidded off the track and somersaulted multiple times ending into an orchard. The driver suffere severe head and internal injuries after being hurled out of the vehicle, which was completely destroyed in the crash.

Wong Teck Sing was rushed to the Miri Hospital but died shortly after admission, while undergoing treatment. He actually was the winner of the race; it has not yet been confirmed whether the winner's trophy was awarded to him posthumously.

Married with children, Wong Teck Sing who was also known under pseudonym "Ah Sing Spoon", was at the wheel of his Spoon Sports yellow-blue liveried Honda Civic SB3 #58, powered by a highly modified Honda B-series VTEC engine. The car was extremely lightened by cutting away a lot of body panel, without any rollcage.
