00:00 Hello everyone, my name is Anjimit King and we're here in Clark Speedway and I was asked
00:05 how many Mazdas have I owned in the past?
00:08 I've owned the B550 pickup which I actually rolled over on the highway sadly and that's
00:13 a long story reserved on its own and I've had a 323 Mazda also.
00:18 But moving to the current times, I have two Mazda Miatas, one I do for the spec race and
00:23 one I do for a practice car and we actually have ownership rights on the Endurance Mazda
00:28 55 car.
00:29 And the Miata series, it is the true ethos of a sports car but right now my pride and
00:34 joy for the Mazda family is this 26B 4-rotor FD RX-7 and this, this is everything for me.
00:42 The sound of this car is like none other and I've always loved NA sounds but this, this
00:48 is a unique sound on its own and I'm so happy to share it with all the Mazda fans today
00:53 because the speakerphone doesn't do it justice.
00:56 You gotta hear it and see it in real life for you to appreciate the drama and theater
01:01 of this car.
01:03 But that's what I love about Mazda.
01:05 Hey everyone, I'm Auric Goh and well, this is my Mazda RX-7.
01:11 We've owned a Mazda MPV back in the 90s, 97 I think.
01:17 It wasn't particularly remarkable at the time but in hindsight, no.
01:21 It's like one of the first minivans.
01:23 So it was pretty interesting in that way but other than that, you know what, honestly we
01:29 haven't had any Mazdas in the family until this came along.
01:33 So this is my 1999 Mazda RX-7.
01:36 I've had it for a little over eight years now.
01:39 So I built it from the ground up.
01:42 I'm really a big fan of Initial D and all that JDM stuff so thankfully, I was in the
01:48 position to take ownership of a car like this and for me, I think this car is what embodies
01:55 the spirit of Mazda.
01:57 The passion behind getting the most out of your driving experience every single time
02:03 you're behind the wheel which obviously is more accessible to cars like the ND Miata
02:08 now.
02:09 You just get in and drive.
02:10 No fuss, no drama.
02:11 Don't be like me.
02:12 You know, I have to deal with a lot of drama just to get my car running but yeah, you know
02:17 what, I wouldn't have it any other way.
02:19 Hi, I'm Julius Cisang.
02:22 I ride cars for a living and in the past, I've owned a Mazda 3, a CX-5, a CX-30, and
02:28 of course now the MX-5.
02:30 What I like about Mazdas is that there is a consistency when it comes to driving.
02:35 Whether you're driving a Mazda 3 or the MX-5, it's always been designed around the joy of
02:39 driving.
02:40 That's something you can't say with any other brand out there.
02:42 And in terms of ownership, I have to say I've owned this car for about more than a year
02:46 now and it's flawless.
02:47 I mean, I drive it every day.
02:49 It's not a garage queen and yet it's been running very well and you can see there are
02:54 a lot of stone chips and everything but it doesn't matter.
02:57 I mean, what's more important is that I have fun in it.
03:00 My name is Jaime Fanlo.
03:03 I've been a member of the Miata Club for a couple of years now.
03:06 I've had this '96 NA for about six years.
03:12 I've had a Mazda 2.
03:13 I also have a Mazda 3.
03:15 So a couple of sedans and a sports car.
03:20 There's a feel that all Mazda models have across the range.
03:24 I'm not sure how to explain it but essentially, it's fun.
03:28 From their sports cars to their sedans and even some of their SUVs.
03:31 They have a very sporty feel.
03:33 They're very connected to the road and as the driver, you really enjoy the experience
03:37 of driving it.
03:38 And so that's why I like Mazda so much.
03:40 In addition to that, the community is really nice.
03:43 We have a lot of friends in the Miata Club and Mazda is very supportive of motorsports.
03:47 They're very involved in the community so that's why we have something like this as
03:51 well, a fan fest like this, which we all enjoy.
03:54 Hi, my name is Zandy Adan and I'm actually the founder of Mazda Tech, which has been
04:01 going on for 23 years.
04:03 My first Mazda was actually a Mazda Speed Familia, which is basically the 323.
04:09 I had a name for it actually.
04:10 It's Mr. Blue.
04:12 I was very happy with how it performed, which brought me to owning a Mazda 3.
04:18 And then after that, let me see, I think a Mazda 6, another Mazda 6, and another Mazda
04:23 6.
04:24 So that was three generations of Mazda 6s.
04:26 And then I crossed over into crossover territory.
04:30 CX-7 first, then the CX-5, CX-9, and well, hopefully in a year or so, maybe I can get
04:40 to touch my own CX-9T.
04:44 So right now, behind me is my RX-8.
04:49 The RX-8 that runs.
04:52 I have three.
04:53 Then I have two RX-7s.
04:59 One thing I noticed about Mazda is it's kind of like an exclusive brand because there are
05:08 not too many actually Mazdas on the road.
05:12 Secondly, the design is actually, Stephen Tan and I both agree that Mazda's designs
05:19 are quite timeless.
05:21 One of the things that I also like about Mazdas are the interiors.
05:26 They're really driver-centric.
05:28 And I'm an industrial designer, so I know what ergonomics means.
05:35 I am Stephen Tan, Mazda Philippines car salesman.
05:41 This is the first Mazda PH FanFest.
05:45 It's not really a new idea, but the first time we're implementing something like this.
05:48 It took a while though.
05:49 I mean, you can say it took us 10 years to get here.
05:52 We used to do car club meetings in different places, different formats, different ideas.
05:58 At one time, the last time was in our place in Cabuya, where we have a large warehouse
06:02 facility.
06:03 That was good too.
06:05 But then the idea started to change.
06:07 We got to work with Shell, and Shell could help us with a track day here.
06:12 So if you want to have a car club day, the best thing to do is on a track.
06:17 And a club is like the best track in the Philippines.
06:20 So we said we'll put it together and pick a day, and here we are.
06:24 So we have all the other clubs here.
06:25 Like Miata Club is here.
06:27 They celebrated their 25th anniversary.
06:29 A long time for a club, right?
06:31 Very active.
06:32 The Master 3, Master 2, RX-7 gang came here.
06:35 NG did a show for us.
06:37 We run an endurance car.
06:39 So it's been a really nice, great day.
06:42 The thing about FanFest is all about the fans, which is the people who drive the car.
06:47 But to me, having a relationship with the car is great, but having a relationship with
06:51 other people who drive the car is even better.
06:53 Because there's something called, it's not a new term, but something called spark of
06:57 joy, right?
06:58 You meet other people, something you flash your light, talk to them, have the same community,
07:03 and that's really, really fantastic.
07:04 And that's what it was about today.
07:07 Meeting each other, having a relationship with other people, and basically have a great
07:12 time.
