00:23 Some 237,000 demonstrators marched in France against the health pass.
00:28 Some 237,000 opponents of the health pass demonstrated on Saturday across France,
00:33 according to the Ministry of the Interior.
00:35 This is the largest number of participants since the start of the protest.
00:39 From Toulon to Lille, a very heterogeneous crowd of French people demonstrated on Saturday,
00:44 August 7, across the country, against the extension of the health pass and the mandatory vaccination
00:49 for the healers, validated by the Constitutional Council.
00:53 Some 237,000 people, of which 17,000 in Paris, marched on Saturday, a level never reached
00:58 since the start of the protest, according to the figures of the Ministry of the Interior.
01:02 This is 33,000 more than last Saturday.
01:05 And the number has more than doubled in three weeks, in the heart of the summer,
01:10 compared to the 114,000 demonstrators recorded by the authorities on July 17,
01:14 during the first weekend of action.
01:15 Like last week, the influx was stronger in the Southeast,
01:20 where at least 47,000 people, according to the police, marched.
01:24 There were 19,000 in Toulon, nearly 10,000 in Nice, 8,000 in Montpellier,
01:28 at least 6,000 in Marseille, according to the first figures of the police and prefectures.
01:32 These protests, for the fourth consecutive weekend,
01:36 took place the day after a new urgent call launched by Emmanuel Macron,
01:39 "Get vaccinated", and while more than 44 million French people received at least one dose,
01:44 65.9% of the population.
01:46 Firefighters in uniforms, healers in blouses, yellow vests or far-right voters.
01:52 The heteroclite protests mixed with anti-vaccine and pro-vaccine protests opposed to the generalization
01:56 of the health pass, validated on Thursday by the Constitutional Council.
01:59 The law that extends the health pass to new public places and establishes a
02:04 vaccine obligation for healers was published in the official newspaper on Friday.
02:07 From Monday, a vaccination certificate will a priori be presented,
02:13 a negative PCR test for COVID-19 or a disease recovery certificate
02:17 to have access to cafes and restaurants, shows or professional salons,
02:21 or to make a long trip on board a plane, train or bus.
02:25 In the protests, many say they refuse to be the guinea pigs of new vaccines.
02:29 But a good part of the protesters, sometimes vaccinated,
02:33 specifically protest against the imposition of the health pass which constitutes,
02:37 according to them, a "vaccine obligation disguised and establishes a control society".
02:42 Macron, your pass, we don't want it.
02:45 Macron, your pass, we don't want it.
02:48 Macron, shut up, we don't want it anymore.
02:50 In the center of Paris, hostile slogans to the president resonated in a Parisian procession
02:54 of several thousand people, including many yellow vests,
02:57 very well-armed by the mobile gendarmes.
02:59 Some were going down to the street for the first time,
03:02 such as Alexandre Fouret, 34 years old and who has already had COVID.
03:06 The problem with the health pass is that we are forced to hand it over to the AFP in Paris,
03:11 this employee in marketing, who really has a hard time believing that his application will be temporary.
03:17 In Paris, 11,000 protesters, according to the Ministry of the Interior,
03:21 participated in another gathering on the call of Florian Philippot,
03:24 former number 2 of the FN, now RN, and president of the Patriots,
03:28 who called for "completely clearing the government".
03:31 Authorities are claiming that the number of critical care hospitalizations
03:36 continues to increase and that daily deaths related to COVID-19 in hospitals are rising.
03:40 The situation is deteriorating, especially in the Antilles and especially in Guadeloupe,
03:45 confined since Wednesday.
03:48 Echauffeuré in Lyon and Dijon.
03:50 More than a hundred people, many of whom are merchants,
03:52 protested in Cambrai, in the north.
03:54 Merchants were closed to protest against the control of the pass which will be long,
03:59 complicated and could create tensions, explained Morgan Sedru, 36,
04:04 manager of a bar, who is also afraid to see his clientele divided by two.
04:08 The end of the route gave rise to echauffeurs with the forces of the order in Lyon,
04:12 where the police proceeded with this interpellation for projectile jets,
04:16 as well as in Dijon when protesters blocked a tramway.
04:19 Few incidents were found, with only 35 interpellations and 7 light injuries
04:25 among the forces of the order, on a total of 198 actions.
04:28 At 8 p.m., eight people had been placed on guard duty in Paris,
04:32 one of whom was a minor, according to the parker.
