This brain-reading headset could help stroke victims regain control of their limbs

The portable headset reads the brain waves of the wearer, triggering a connected robotic arm to move when the person thinks about moving their arm.

00:28 and in return the movement generates feedback back to the brain and when you have top-down information

00:34 meeting within a time window, bottom-up information, that leads to neuroplasticity or heavy unlearning.

00:41 And that's what changes the brain. That's what leads to neurorehabilitation.

00:55 We want to read the brainwaves because we want to understand what happens to the brain when we are training people using robots.

01:03 And then that information then can be used in the future to come up with a program to help people with stroke who have

01:13 difficulty thinking, who have difficulty concentrating. Hopefully those brainwaves that will then be transformed

01:21 into a program can help them utilize technologies such as robots or other devices.
