00:17 live in daily fear of gun violence.

00:20 And so gun violence, I think it's important for us to focus on how gun violence

00:25 affects the way in which we live our day-to-day lives rather than these one-off horrific events

00:30 that often receive a lot of media attention.

01:05 But we haven't been allowed to process.

01:08 We haven't been allowed to mourn.

01:09 We haven't been allowed to feel or to even imagine the joy of what it might be like

01:16 to live in a world in which, you know, we don't have to live in fear every single day.

01:20 And I feel like by trying to reclaim them as something queer, as something transformative,

01:26 as something that maybe imagines a different world,

01:30 I hope that we can completely transform them and reclaim them

01:36 as something that was truly never made in our image.
