00:00 Welcome back to Pinoy MD, Kapuso!
00:02 And of course, this morning, as I said earlier,
00:04 we'll be joined by our resident dermatologist, Dr. Jean,
00:08 to answer your FD questions for today.
00:12 Good morning, Dr. Jean!
00:13 Good morning, Colleen!
00:15 Of course, good morning to all the viewers of Pinoy MD.
00:19 Doc, our first question is,
00:21 "Will there be any prevention of warts?"
00:23 That question is from Melinda Abian.
00:26 Although, it's not 100% guaranteed
00:29 that warts will be avoided,
00:31 there are ways to reduce the chances of having warts.
00:36 First of all, warts are found in people who have warts.
00:40 So, it's better to avoid people who we know have warts.
00:46 Second, warts are also found in objects
00:50 that people who have warts hold.
00:52 Third, warts are also found in wounds on the hands
00:56 or in wounds on the feet.
00:58 So, we advise that we should always wash our hands.
01:03 There are people who are more prone to develop warts,
01:06 those who have a low immune system.
01:10 That's why warts commonly show up
01:13 when you have a fever during pregnancy,
01:15 or when you have a disease,
01:16 or you're always fat, or you're stressed out.
01:18 That's why it's important to eat healthy foods.
01:22 Of course, we can also drink supplements.
01:25 And of course, we should sleep well.
01:28 Let's talk about varicose veins in this question.
01:32 What should we do for those who have varicose veins?
01:36 Chanel sent this question to us.
01:38 Achilles, you're up.
01:40 Well, varicose veins are actually found
01:42 when you're always standing.
01:44 If we're always standing or sitting,
01:46 we should minimize that.
01:47 We should move around.
01:49 Don't always stand or sit for a long time.
01:51 Second, it's also found when, for example,
01:54 we gain a lot of weight,
01:56 or we gain weight.
01:58 We can also be prone to develop varicose veins.
02:01 So, we should lose weight.
02:04 And of course, when we grow older,
02:06 it can also happen, or it could be genetic.
02:09 And for that, we have treatments
02:12 that can be done.
02:13 There are actually a lot.
02:15 The gold standard for varicose veins
02:17 is still sclerotherapy.
02:19 That's when we inject sclerosing solution
02:22 to close these varicose veins.
02:25 And of course, when we're already too old,
02:27 you want to get treatment quickly,
02:31 there are so-called endovenous lasers
02:33 or endovenous radio frequencies
02:36 that can close large veins.
02:38 And of course, it can also be removed
02:40 because of hormonal issues.
02:42 For example, if you're on oral contraceptive pills,
02:45 or if you really don't need to take oral contraceptive pills,
02:48 you can stop taking it.
02:50 So, it's really important that you see a dermatologist
02:54 to give you the right solution.
02:56 Here's our next question, doctor.
02:59 When they say to put aloe vera in the anus,
03:01 how many times should you do it before shampooing?
03:04 From Dottie Da Silva.
03:06 Putting aloe vera shampoo for whatever reason,
03:09 you might be putting it because you want some hair growth,
03:14 or for example, you just want to moisturize your scalp,
03:17 that's fine.
03:18 But there's no exact time
03:23 on how long you can soak the aloe vera
03:25 because the practice is not complete
03:29 on the proper use of aloe vera.
03:33 So, maybe after 20 to 30 minutes,
03:35 you can wash it off to be safe
03:38 because if you leave it for too long,
03:40 your scalp might get irritated.
03:42 And of course, if you're going to shampoo,
03:45 you can still shampoo twice a day
03:47 or as needed if your scalp is really dirty.
03:52 Just remember to be careful when using aloe vera
03:57 because we already know why you're using aloe vera.
04:02 You might have wounds
04:04 or you might have seborrheic dermatitis
04:06 that's why you're using it.
04:07 You might get more irritated.
04:09 So, it's better to see a doctor
04:13 for whatever reason you're using aloe vera.
04:16 And lastly, what is the most common medicine for hair
04:21 that's in the male's hair?
04:24 Those hair are also called warts
04:26 caused by human papillomavirus
04:28 like flat warts.
04:30 But there are many types of human papillomavirus.
04:33 There are 20 kinds.
04:35 Human papillomavirus is different from common warts,
04:39 flat warts, and genital warts.
04:44 Genital warts are sexually transmitted
04:47 but they can be treated.
04:50 In fact, there should be vaccinations for women
04:55 for prevention of cervical cancer.
05:00 Because genital warts in women
05:03 can actually cause cervical cancer.
05:05 If you have this,
05:07 there are treatments that we can do.
05:10 Let's start with the creams.
05:12 There are creams that can help cure genital warts
05:17 like what we call emicumode or podophyllin.
05:20 But of course, these are under the prescription
05:23 of a dermatologist and under the supervision.
05:26 And also, it should be burned.
05:30 It's burned by means of cold therapy or cryotherapy.
05:35 It's burned by spraying
05:37 like an assolution that will freeze
05:40 the warts so that it can be burned.
05:42 It can also be burned by electricity.
05:45 That's electrocautery.
05:47 It can also be burned by using gas
05:50 which is a carbon dioxide laser.
05:54 But of course, the most important thing is prevention.
05:58 You should protect yourself during sexual intercourse.
06:02 You can use condoms
06:05 or of course, you have to choose your partner.
06:08 And of course, be monogamous as much as possible.
06:13 That's all.
06:14 There you have it, Kapuso.
06:15 And of course, thank you to Dr. Jean
06:17 for answering our FB questions for today.
06:20 And of course, our reminder is to continue
