00:00 We are very sad to announce that David McCallum, Scottish actor and musician, has passed away.
00:05 For his last video, watch the video till end.
00:08 David McCallum, one of the original cast members on NCIs in the 1960s hit spy drama "The
00:14 Man" from UNECL, has died aged 90.
00:17 His son Peter announced on Monday 25 September that his father had died of natural causes
00:23 in New York City.
00:24 He said in a statement on behalf of the family, "He was the kindest, coolest, most patient
00:29 and loving father.
00:30 He always put family before self.
00:32 He looked forward to any chance to connect with his grandchildren and had a unique bond
00:36 with each of them.
00:37 He and his youngest grandson, Witt, 9, could often be found in the corner of a room at
00:42 family parties having deep philosophical conversations.
00:46 After returning from the hospital to their apartment, I asked my mother if she was okay
00:50 before she went to sleep.
00:51 Her answer was simply, "Yes."
00:54 But I do wish we had had a chance to grow old together.
00:57 She is 79 and dad just turned 90.
00:59 The honesty in that emotion shows how vibrant their beautiful relationship and daily lives
01:04 were and that somehow, even at 90, daddy never grew old.
01:08 As much as his fans may have loved him, those who worked side by side with David loved him
01:12 that much more.
01:13 He was a scholar and a gentleman, always gracious, a consummate professional and never one to
01:19 pass up a joke.
01:20 From day one, it was an honour to work with him and he never let us down.
01:24 He was, quite simply, a legend.
01:26 He was also family and will be deeply missed.
01:29 We are deeply saddened by the passing of David McCallum and privileged that CBS was his home
01:35 for so many years, the network and NCI's studio CBS Studios said in a joint statement,
01:41 "Rest in peace, David McCallum."
