00:00 More than 70 PhilHealth computers have been hacked
00:05 and the amount of money they are asking for is worth P17 million.
00:09 The agency assured that the details of the patients were not compromised
00:12 even though there is a screenshot of what it looks like that the hackers have released.
00:17 John Consulta was able to find out.
00:19 GMA Integrated News was exclusively allowed inside the PhilHealth head office
00:26 where the computers that were hacked are being examined.
00:29 Experts from the PhilHealth and Department of Information and Communications Technology or DICT are investigating.
00:36 According to PhilHealth, out of more than 2,000 PhilHealth computers in the head office and NCR,
00:41 72 have been hacked.
00:44 The Computer Forensic Examination is being conducted around the clock
00:47 by the experts here at the PhilHealth office to find out two things.
00:52 First, what computers were compromised and what was the last hacking incident that happened.
00:59 There are systems that were affected, there are application servers that were affected,
01:04 like our website, like our e-claim system, like our member portal.
01:13 But again, PhilHealth and several government agencies are doing their best to help us
01:20 to fix this and return it to normal operation.
01:25 In the 31 screenshots uploaded on the website of the hackers of the Medusa Ransomware Group,
01:29 the list of patients and their information is being noticed,
01:33 such as their address, confinement date, and medical record.
01:38 This is under the control of the National Privacy Commission.
01:41 This is really concerning.
01:43 This should be confirmed and uploaded to their database.
01:47 If this is really what's in their database,
01:52 how widespread could it be and how many Filipinos could be affected.
01:58 We showed the screenshot to PhilHealth.
02:00 Our workstations or the computers of our employees,
02:05 some of them were hacked or there was an incident like this.
02:09 So these are the working files.
02:11 If this was taken from PhilHealth, these are not our databases.
02:16 Because of the hacking, the operations are manual to process the PhilHealth claims.
02:22 We asked PhilHealth if the hackers have an insider,
02:26 that's why they made the data breach.
02:28 We don't want to think there is anything that happened like that.
02:32 But of course, it's also part of our thinking.
02:35 If there is, for example, there is just an attack or there is a negligence amongst the employees
02:43 or any negligence in our systems, it's also part of our investigation.
02:49 So we're not closing any doors to whatever happened.
