In this video, Neil Tappin and Jezz Ellwood look at 10 of the most demoralising shots you can hit. We all hit bad shots at the wrong time and these some of the most frustrating. They cover everything from hitting your opening tee shot into trouble to three putting from close range for bogey.

00:00 Now golf is a fantastic sport, I love it, but as most of you watching this will know,
00:04 it is also incredibly frustrating at times.
00:07 Now we're here at the London Club and in this video we're going to take a look at
00:11 10 of the most demoralising golf shots you can hit.
00:15 Let's get started.
00:26 Okay so right of the 12th hole here at the London Club and Jez has got two options,
00:30 he can either chip it back out over to the left here or he can be a bit more aggressive and play
00:34 it to the right. I'm not sure there's a huge amount to be gained there, it's par five he
00:38 doesn't need to go for it. Let's see what option he goes for.
00:41 Oh that is demoralising.
00:46 There's nothing to be gained this way at all.
00:52 Well these short irons have been causing Neil a bit of grief of late, tendency to pull them left
00:57 of target and he's been working hard on the range putting in the hours to try and sort things out.
01:02 150 here, only a short iron for Neil.
01:05 It's gone 50 yards next.
01:14 Ooh that is a shank.
01:19 Okay so 11th hole here at the London Club, tough par three. Now Jez has hit a really good drive
01:28 down into the mouth of the green, should be able to escape here with a par. He's just deciding
01:31 whether to chip it or to putt it, pretty sure he'll go for the putt.
01:35 So we've got a good shot of the green, he's got a good shot of the green,
01:38 he's got a good shot of the green, he's got a good shot of the green, he's got a good shot of the green.
01:40 So he's deciding whether to chip it or to putt it, pretty sure he'll go for the putter.
01:44 Oh he's gone for the chipper, let's see how he gets on.
01:49 Why don't you just use the putter?
01:56 So this is the 13th on the heritage course at the London Club, it's a classic risk reward par four.
02:06 It's playing off the forward tees today and it's straight downwind. Now
02:10 Tappers is a pretty long hitter, I'm pretty sure he will have a go at this,
02:14 probably doesn't even need driver. So, oh, looks like he actually has something else in mind.
02:22 Oh no, don't go left.
02:26 So that is just what he didn't want to do, iron for safety,
02:30 found a bunker, now has to play straight over the water.
02:38 So we're here on the 10th green on the heritage course at the London Club,
02:41 Neil has left himself this 12 footer for birdie after a good approach,
02:44 he needs something to happen in this round, so let's see.
02:48 Well he's knocked it a little way past, but he should have no trouble in just
02:55 tidying that one up. I'm sure he would have liked it to be just a touch closer maybe, but well let's see.
03:06 Oh my goodness, the horseshoe, that is going to hurt.
03:10 Tenth hole, third shot. Now this is a tricky scenario, downhill lie, tight flag, we've all
03:21 been there, but Jez is an experienced campaigner, he knows full well the number one mistake you make
03:27 in this position is to get too cute with it. So Jez is just going to play the old pro shot,
03:33 hit it past the flag, take your chance from 10 or 15 feet,
03:37 very very simple, no mistakes need to be made.
03:39 Oops.
03:45 So it's competition day and Neil's hopes are up, he's been playing well
03:54 in friendly rounds recently, he knows that his handicap should be coming down, this is the day
04:00 that he thinks he's going to do it. He's treated himself to a new glove, he's treated himself to
04:05 a brand new golf ball, he's even done a little bit of stretching on the tee there, so this is the day
04:11 where things all go completely according to plan.
04:13 Or not.
04:26 Oh no, no, it's gone left, I have to play provisional.
04:34 Well I see what Neil was trying to do there, this is the 12th hole on the heritage course
04:39 at the London Club, really requires a little bit of a fade around the corner,
04:42 then it's a great chance par five, but if you over fade it you're in the trees on the right,
04:47 and if you do what Neil has just done, you hold on to it and you're up that bank on the left
04:51 where the rough is pretty impenetrable. All right, don't go left.
04:54 Oh my goodness, is that an action replay of the first one, déjà vu time?
05:03 Are you joking?
05:04 I think it probably is.
05:06 Okay so we reached a critical phase in the round here, Jez has driven into the water
05:14 and he's now got a very difficult pitch over that water to the green,
05:18 could be a cricket score if he gets this wrong.
05:22 Hang on a second, hang on a second, that's pretty close, he could even escape here with a par.
05:28 What is the point?
05:33 Well there you have it, that's our look at 10 of the most demoralising shots in golf.
05:41 If you've liked the video hit the like button, but also have we missed anything? Is there a
05:45 more demoralising shot that we've not somehow included? We'd love to hear your thoughts.
05:50 But that's it for now, thanks for watching, we'll see you next time.
