The Worst in History, US National Debt Reaches $500 Trillion

For the first time in U.S. history, its national debt has reached $33 trillion. Prolonged political tensions in the U.S. Congress have created uncertainty regarding government spending and funding. Consequently, an agreement on a solution to the U.S. debt has not yet been reached.
