Parent birdies seamlessly feed young swallows with the innovative 'fly-thru' method
  • 7 months ago
The lengths a parent is willing to go to ensure that their kids are well-fed and taken care of is simply mind-blowing. This doesn't only apply to humans, as shown in this stellar video.

Filmed by Lawrence Chatton, this enthralling up-close footage shows young swallows (songbirds) being fed in quite a unique manner due to them not being able to fly freely yet.

"These young swallows had fledged just the day before I took the video and could not yet be fed 'on the wing' (i.e. in flight); parents were therefore feeding them with a 'fly-by,'" Lawrence explained to WooGlobe. "The juvenile swallows look bigger than their parents because they are! The young birds will lose all that excess weight when they spend more time in flight."
